MY BIGGEST GROWTH PORTFOLIO MISTAKES IN 2025 The biggest realization from my mistakes last year was how much hesitation cost me since I let the fear of being early or overconfidence in an old assumption that pushed me out of positions that went on to compound. 1. I believed AI utility names like $IREN, $NBIS & $CIFR were built for what I call the overflow era when AI compute demand exceeds what $AMZN AWS, $MSFT Azure & $GOOGL Cloud can supply. I underestimated how long that imbalance would last & how relentless demand would be. 2. Not building size in the pure-play drone names when the window was wide open. I bought $ONDS at $0.73 & sold at $3.17 because the move felt too fast. I did restart the position at $5.26 but the hesitation cost me some upside. 3. I put $HOOD on my watchlist in the $20s but never added because I viewed it through a commodity lens & failed to recognize how powerful its attention-monetization engine was becoming with more than 11 business lines generating over $100M per year. 4. I misread $JOBY by viewing it through $ACHR capex-light lens which was the wrong framing. Archer is more capex-light and focused on defense with a faster path to making money while Joby is trying to build the whole system by owning the aircraft, the manufacturing &the network. That’s much harder to do but if they pull it off then the upside is bigger than Archer’s. 5. I viewed $LMND as a marketing-led digital insurer & underestimated how quickly its AI-driven underwriting & cost structure were improving. When loss ratios, gross profit & premium growth began to align then it became clear the model was starting to inflect.
