What they don't know is the White Mesa Mill in Utah is now producing separated heavy rare earth oxides - the first US facility to do so at specification-grade purity in decades. 99.9% purity dysprosium and terbium oxides, both confirmed. Targeting commercial-scale production of up to 48 metric tons of dysprosium and 14 metric tons of terbium per year. The Toliara project in Madagascar adds a massive monazite feedstock pipeline with a $1.8B NPV. They're building the mid-stream processing layer the entire domestic supply chain needs.

Here’s why, and what the actual play is: The supply chain looks like this: Mine → Separation → Metallization → Magnet → Defense/EV/Robots Everyone is focused on mining ($UUUU producing Dy/Tb oxide for the first time in US history, March 2026). But none is talking about metallization. Oxide is not metal. Magnet makers need metal. The step between separated oxide and magnet-grade metal is called metallization; reduction under high vacuum at extreme temperature using proprietary furnace technology. There is exactly one company doing this in North America: $ALOY (REalloys Inc., Ohio).
