$SNAP just unveiled its AR glasses, and honestly, I don't know what to think. I genuinely don't understand how anyone looks at this and comes away believing it's the next big thing, but more than anything, it shows just how massive the gap is between Snap's CEO and Meta's CEO. Zuckerberg spent years and billions of dollars pushing the metaverse, but one thing I'll give him credit for is that he knows when an idea isn't working. He effectively backed away and moved on. We barely hear about the metaverse anymore. Spiegel, on the other hand, seems completely attached to these computing glasses and refuses to let go, no matter how strange the whole concept looks. The market is sending a pretty clear message, and he's doing the exact opposite. Snap stock is down 38% year to date, yet there he is showcasing the product on TV. That's really the difference. Zuckerberg seems willing to admit when one of his ideas isn't gaining traction and pivot elsewhere. Spiegel looks like he's still trying to force a vision that the market simply isn't buying.

$SNAP Just reported earnings and issued a $500M share buyback. The buyback is a red flag. Q4 Report: - Revenue: $1.716 Billion (+10%) - FCF: $206M (+13%) - Net Income: $45M - Gross Margins: 59% $SNAP recognized $257.2 million in STOCK BASED COMPENSATION, ending the year with $1.017 billion in SBC. If $SNAP paid employees/executives in cash instead of stock, If their "Free Cash Flow" for the quarter would actually be -$51M. You see a $3B balance sheet, but they are net cash -$490 Million, because they are going into $3.5B+ in long term debt to do buybacks. These are not $META or $NVDA buybacks because of excess capital from their balance sheet. It's to offset any stock grants going to their executives and "Talent". They are paying market rates of (6.875%) for their debt. That debt interest is now over $30M+ a quarter, so $120m+ a year just for "buybacks". Earnings look great, but the stock compensation optical illusion makes the reality look horrendous. I would personally not invest in a Victoria Secret model's private piggy bank.

Snapchat is a $11.5B company that has ~1B MAU with Q3 adjusted EBITDA ~$132M. However: - $SNAP stock comp for the last 12M? $2.5 Billion. Yes $2.5 Billion TTM. The current yearly is closer to $1.06 Billion. - Snap is going into debt to do buy-backs from executive pay. - The CEO issued ~$1B+ in annual stock based compensation annually. This is a non-cash expense that "hides" FCF. - They are paying 6.875% interest on that debt just to make sure the executive pay doesn't tank the stock price. When you couple that with projections even est. $820M – $950M FCF for 2026. Perplexity AI Deal: +$300M - $400M Memory Monetization: +$240M (3% DAU conversion to $1.99 plan) Memory OpEx Cuts: +30M Interest: ($150M - $180M) Baseline: ~$400M This just looks insane. All they need to do is have executives not pay themselves billions and the fundamentals look like a $20B+ company (~21x multiple). This is a growing social media company that has tremendous potential for monetization. I was doing more DD into long positions, but currently, this structure just looks like a transfer of wealth from retail to $SNAP executives with continuous claims of "keeping talent" for $1B+ a year. My eyes are on stock compensation structures for this week's earnings call.

@wealthmatica Bruh, I’ve been bull posting $SNAP too but adoption rate of memory monetization is probably single low digit at best. Majority of people don’t have over 5 GB used. So how are majority of 80% or even 25% (from your previous post) of the 943M monthly users paying for extra storage? Also it’s been a generational wealth destroyer. That being said it’s undervalued right now, 2% adoption leads to a huge increase in revenue but the core thing people miss is opex cuts from GCP costs from 9 GB wasteful hotdog videos.
