Fun new information discovery from Poet OSINT community: Seems likely that $POET / $SIVE are going to power a Top-3 hyperscaler (either Amazon, Microsoft, Google). Given a Linkedin update from Ankur Singla (CEO of Lumilens). Who stated their customer is one of the top 3 hyperscalers with their post focusing on CPO/NPO. With that clue, seems more likely the Sivers CW DFB light source path over other EML suppliers given it's CPO Scale Out/NPO. If you don't remember, Sivers is the laser supplier to Poet. And Poet has purchase agreements with Lumilens. Always fun to find major potential breadcrumbs in the wild before they're officially confirmed. (Disclosure, long Sive)

$POET With the indirect connections to Nvidia through partners like Luxshare, it really makes me wonder. The Zacks report had some very interesting lines: “This company (Lumilens) has hyperscalers as customers, and we believe POET is providing product to one of them through Lumilens.” “There is so much interest in Blazar that the company may not even need more high-speed transceiver customers.” “Shipments will begin in the second half of 2026 to customers previously disclosed as well as to undisclosed new customers.” Jensen has been hammering the point that the entire industry is facing a massive shortage of photonic interconnect capacity. Given that Luxshare is now a key supplier in Nvidia’s MGX/Rubin ecosystem, it’s not a stretch to think some of POET’s engines could already be designed into those systems. The AI focus is all about GPUs now. Could some Nvidia GPUs actually be coming right off the production line with POET technology already integrated inside? $POET MMCAP International is a long-time insider with years of deep visibility into POET’s operations and just dropped $400 million in a registered direct offering at $21 per share (plus warrants at $26.25). That’s roughly triple what other sophisticated money paid earlier this year. Think about that！This isn’t some new hedge fund chasing momentum. MMCAP has sat with POET through the grind. They know the accounting cold, the production ramps inside-out, the upcoming purchase orders, the hidden pipeline, and the strategic moves the rest of the market hasn’t even heard about yet. When an investor with that level of intimate, multi-year knowledge willingly triples their entry price on a massive scale and writes big checks at a premium, it’s not noise, it’s conviction. They’re betting on execution in the AI photonic revolution, where POET’s tech edge in low-power, high-speed optical interconnects is becoming mission-critical. Huge war chest secured. Manufacturing scale-up funded If this helped you out, follow for more.

$POET MMCAP is smart money and long. They were involved with raises with warrants at 5 and 5.5 recently as well as a direct offering at 7.25. Now they are involved with a new offering at an average of 21 dollars and at 26 they can exercise and get even more shares. They routinely exercise warrants and sell shares on the open market to stay below the 10% ownership threshold. The new shares that can be issued at 26 will be nothing as the share price has already increased a lot and they will maintain ownership at 9.99%. They have been with Poet for a while and I'd imagine they are as confident as ever, willing to buy hundreds of millions more in shares even at these levels. Poet will have over a billion to aggressively surpass existing manufacturing capacity. This is what hyperscalers want to see before placing big POs.

The warrants do help incentivize the $500m in extra purchase orders for $POET though. But I'm not complaining, it's actually more beneficial to $SIVE than it is to Poet, since Sivers gets all the large percent of that $500M $POET BOM of laser orders without that incentive as collateral. Just don't think markets know that nuance yet.

$POET just made a move that could redefine the optical layer of AI compute. The company announced a joint development partnership with Lumilens built around a new Electrical-Optical Interposer (EOI) platform — essentially bringing semiconductor-style wafer-level manufacturing to optical engines, eliminating the manual alignment process that’s been the single biggest cost and yield constraint in optical assembly. Lumilens dropped an initial $50M purchase order, with a pathway to $500M+ in cumulative purchases over five years. The roadmap runs from 800G/1.6T pluggables all the way to Co-Packaged Optics, with engineering samples expected late 2026 and production ramp in 2027 — right in line with hyperscaler deployment cycles. Stock is trading ~$14 today, up ~270% from its 52-week low, with a new COO from Silicon Labs just brought on to scale manufacturing. Revenue is still near zero and modules still need to be qualified, so this is a high-conviction, high-risk pre-revenue inflection story — but the $500M commercial framework gives it more teeth than the average photonics press release. Not financial advice.

A ratio this low is rare as hell and one of the strongest bullish signals you’ll see. Heavy call buying and big sweeps all day show serious conviction that this thing is going higher. On top of that, POET's investment in Lessengers shows confidence if growing the 1.6T business in Asia. Korean venture capital money says so too. $POET - The Optical Interposer Bet The Technology The core thesis starts with the platform itself. POET’s Optical Interposer allows the integration of electronic and photonic devices into a single chip using advanced wafer-level semiconductor manufacturing techniques — eliminating the need for separate laser components and complex assembly that plague traditional transceiver manufacturing. This is the structural argument: as AI data centers scale from 800G to 1.6T interconnects, the InP laser supply chain bottleneck and power/cost constraints on optical transceivers become existential problems. POET’s platform solves both in a single wafer-level process. Applications span data center AI, 5G interconnect, LIDAR, medical OCT, and edge computing — the total addressable market is enormous if the platform proves out.

$POET green close at 8.03 on 80M volume after yesterday’s chaos is a big win. That’s not dead stock action, that’s buyers stepping in and holding the line. Yesterday was shock, today was stabilization. Just to reiterate, the recent pump was just a taste. The sheer fact that Marvell was already snooping around for alternatives before they announced the NDA breach a day (!) after they bought one, means they are threatened. That's not a competitive edge. The new buyout is NOT going to able to deliver faster than POET. Their tech is also not better than POETs. All it means is that Marvell wanted something else. They had no issue stating publicly that the NDA was breached, but they never said the tech was. Ask yourself why. Could it be because their competition wanted a slice of POET? To me that seems way more likely than foregoing on a contract that was already in production and about to be shipped because an "NDA was breached" with knowledge that was already relatively public. Ask yourself, why is POET quiet. Is it because they are in trouble? Or are they focusing on what matters? I think it's the latter: customers who are not playing these corporate games. Filtronic got punished yesterday. Why? Probably because of the customer dependence. Around 75% of the revenue comes from SpaceX. Investors saw what such a customer dependence can do with $POET yesterday. If SpaceX pulls out, the business case of Filtronic looks a lot less positive. But here is why I think Filtronic is different, very different. First of all, SpaceX is open about the relationship with Filtronic. They already called them a ‘reliable partner’. Secondly, SpaceX isn’t just a customer, it’s a strategic partner. They work together to innovate the whole space industry. Thirdly, Filtronic makes profit. They have a positive cash flow and ebitda margin. They don’t burn any cash and SpaceX is financing their whole R&D project. Finally, the management has always been honest and open about their targets and reached them. I’ve build a framework that rated management and they score a 96/100. The highest score I’ve seen until now. Poet scores 19/100. If the drawback continues and investors dare to push this share below 200, I’m ready to make Filtronic my second highest holding.

Not the best way to start my Monday. $POET down almost 50% after $MRVL cancelled all the orders for Celestial AI. The reason? POET breached the NDA last week. The NDA is a confidentiality agreement between both parties to keep the cooperation secret. After the short report, the POET management tried to appease investors by confirming the purchase order of Marvell. One of the most stupid decisions, certainly if you know you have an NDA. The only positive here is that the cancellation is not about the technology. On the other hand, the fact that they pusher POET aside so quickly, means that they believe they have other solutions available imo. I need to let this sink in for a minute. $POET The "Parabolic" Setup: Why This Week Matters Technically, the stock just completed one. However, one factor suggests a "second leg" or continued momentum will occur this week: Call volume reached nearly 90% of total options activity last Friday. When market makers sell these calls to retail traders, they must hedge by buying the underlying stock, creating a "gamma squeeze" that can fuel parabolic moves even without new news. I expect to see more of the same, much more. Also, In a parabolic move, the stock can stay overbought for a long time. This thing has legs, momentum and POET’s "Optical Interposer" is positioned in the wheelhouse of the "Optics Supercycle". There is nothing fake about the move we are seeing. It’s incredible difficult to short stocks nowadays. Short reports are meant to spread fear in the market and create a short-term drop on the stock. Those reports are often written on stocks which are difficult to understand like $POET. Without X, without AI, investors had to spend days/weeks to understand the stock. Most investors did not have the time/recourses to do this. So a short report from a big institution often impressed and created fear. Short trades are often closed in just weeks. They are happy with a drop of 10% - 20%. So they created fear and closed the trade almost immediately. Nothing to do with fundamentals. Researching stocks has become more accessible in the last few years. We all have access to experts and can check certain facts with AI. We are all informed of what we own, even if the stock might be a bit more difficult to understand. A short report is now easily punctured and creates less fear. $POET is now up 125% since the short-report. This gives me confidence that investors actually know what they own these days and do their due diligence. Congrats on everyone who did their research and took advantage of the 1-day dip.

What I try to do is look at the situation in the most logical way possible and share the scenario that seems most likely. Now that the $MRVL and $POET collaboration news is out, I believe the path of what may come next has become much clearer. If any paid subscribers happened to miss that article, I would recommend taking another look. This is not investment advice. Full article: https://t.co/dI2Yk0LKt6 Thank you.

$POET and $LWLG At first, I was very negative on $POET. When I first started posting on X, I even wrote that I had a bearish view on the company. After that, I spent a lot of time studying it to resolve the questions and uncertainties I had. During that process, I wrote three articles on $POET and also referred to the writings and views of many experts, including @Semicon_player, @PhotonCap, @crux_capital_ The more I studied it, the more I realized that, although I still had uncertainties about POET, it also had attractive qualities as an investment. When the stock pulled back, I allocated a manageable portion of my overall portfolio to it. In the end, it turned out to be a good investment. The same applies to $LWLG. I understood the technical risks, especially the limitations of polymers, which is why I wrote an article about $LWLG's technical risks. But despite that, the stock continued to rise afterward. I admit that I was wrong, and I am still studying it. I think one of the most important things in investing is not becoming overconfident and assuming you are always right, but continuing to look at everything with a critical eye. 😇

$POET — POET Technologies: The Optical Interposer That Could Collapse the Whole Supply Chain Into One Chip POET Technologies’ patented Optical Interposer integrates lasers, modulators, and electronics on a single chip — still early revenue, but backed by partnerships with Foxconn with over $300M in cash after a major raise. If it works at scale, POET eliminates several layers of the photonics supply chain. Highest risk, highest potential disruption on this list.

$POET moving higher in overnight trading UPDATE: PFIC CLARITY + STRATEGIC SHIFT POET Technologies Inc. has officially addressed its PFIC status, and the message is clear: this is more about tax structure cleanup than business deterioration. 🔹 PFIC status confirmed for 2025 •Company expects PFIC classification for 2025 •U.S. shareholders can use QEF election to avoid adverse tax impact •Since POET reported a net loss, QEF for 2025 is expected to result in zero taxable income inclusion 🔹 Big de-risking move for investors •Company commits to providing full PFIC reporting for shareholders •Removes uncertainty that often weighs on U.S.-listed foreign growth names 🔹 Major catalyst: U.S. redomiciling 🇺🇸 •Board approved plan to move headquarters to the U.S. •Goal: eliminate PFIC classification going forward •Shareholder approval expected at June 2026 AGM 🔹 Forward outlook •Company expects it may not be a PFIC in 2026 •Structural shift could improve institutional access and valuation perception •Clears a long-standing overhang on the stock This is a cleanup + re-rating setup, not a business slowdown. Removing PFIC uncertainty + potential U.S. redomicile = stronger long-term positioning for AI photonics growth story.

$POET and $OUST remain very interesting buys at the moment. Q3 2026’ wil be big for both companies. $POET up 43% and $OUST 24%. $POET is a riskier photonics play. They are basically still in the pre-revenue phase. First revenues should come in Q3 2026. Their concept is proven and it solves a solution to a critical bottleneck. There is are still a lot of execution risk though but the upside looks unlimited at the moment. $OUST is a safer Lidar play. They make sensors for autonomous vehicles and robots. This space is now dominated by Chinese suppliers. By June 26’, the Safe act will come into play. This will prohibit US manufacturers to buy sensors from Chinese manufacturers. This gives $OUST a huge home advantage. We should see the first positive signs in Q3 2026. I will likely keep buying the dips of both.

Earnings were not spectacular for $POET, but they have never been. The first (apart from NRE's) revenue is expected in the second half of 2026. The most interesting financial story of the earnings is that they now have a cash balance of $313.4 million. The total liabilities are $40 million. So, with a market cap of $888 million, your downside is limited. Investors are always willing to pay on top of the book value. The upside is on the other hand has unlimited potential. POET Technologies possess a highly unique, proprietary solution to the optical alignment bottleneck through its POET Optical Interposer. This global silicon photonics market as of 2025 has an estimated TAM of $2.86 billion. This TAM is expected to grow to $28.75 billion by 2034. However POET is still in pre-revenue phase, it is not an unwritten book. They first hit public markets in 2008 under the name Opel International. At that time, they were focused on solar panels and solar tracking systems. As they realized that the solar market was a race to the bottom, they changed strategy. In 2012, the company rebranded to POET Technologies and they started to focus on the chip industry. They spent years trying to create a monolithic chip that could do the job of both electricity and light. They proved this could work in lab but failed to scale the idea. In 2015, they hired a new CEO Dr. Suresh Venkatesan. They pivoted toward the optical interposer. Instead of making one giant chip, they built a bridge that allows existing electronic chips and optical (light) chips to be snapped together easily. This bridge took nearly a decade of engineering, ensuring more than 100 patents, and setting up complex supply chains. After a decade they look ready to move from an R&D phase towards real revenue. They recently secured a $5 million initial order for 800G optical engines and they are expected to ship more than 30,000 optical engines this year across both high-speed and high-power segments. If they are able to scale up production this time, you are looking at a $1 billion company revolutionizing a multibillion-dollar industry. If they completely fail, you are looking at a 50% loss max imo. Management is not very transparent about the progress at the moment, so it can feel a bit like you are blindfolded on a bumpy ride. But with this upside, it's a risk I'm willing to take. Long $POET, nfa

When scale up-scale out architectures transition to CPO & Silicon photonics. For the start of next Photonics Supercycle. The companies that buy and package their laser arrays/cw dfb lasers from $POET to Ayar? Are worth ~$1B-$4B+ (not including o-net or undisclosed). With current pluggable transceiver cycles: Laser suppliers typically command higher valuation premiums than their packaging counterparties that buy the light source. So, I do think $SIVE is largely undiscovered by markets and far from being priced in.

$POET news with LITEON 🚨 This announcement is about commercialization progress. Not near term revenue unfortunately. Let’s unpack it a bit. POET’s whole thesis is that its Optical Interposer can make optical engines and light sources smaller, lower power, and easier to scale for AI networking. The key question for investors has always been how POET advances from a promising platform into a qualified, manufacturable product at scale. So where does LITEON come in? LITEON is a major optoelectronics manufacturing company. It brings decades of experience, global customer relationships, and real expertise in lasers, optical components, and precision module manufacturing. This shows POET’s platform continuing to attract serious industrial partners with the ability to help move products toward broader deployment. This collaboration adds another pathway for POET to move closer to scaled module production. And it fits into a much bigger pattern. POET has already built a growing partnership network across the stack with Foxconn Interconnect, Luxshare, MultiLane, Mentech, Mitsubishi Electric, Semtech, Sivers, NTT Innovative Devices, and Quantum Computing Inc. So basically POET keeps expanding its ecosystem across engines, modules, light sources, and manufacturing. Each new partnership adds another layer of validation and another route toward commercialization. The overall takeway is this: LITEON strengthens the commercialization story. POET is building a broader web of partners, products, and manufacturing capacity around its Optical Interposer platform. That gives the company more shots on goal as AI networking moves toward 800G, 1.6T, co-packaged optics, and higher-density optical architectures. So of course we still need to watch execution: Prototype progress, customer sampling, qualification milestones, and eventual volume ramps.

OFC 2026 Next Week 👈 $POET POET Technologies is set to present and demonstrate key products at the Optical Fiber Communications (OFC) Conference. This includes their largest booth presence yet (booth 339) with live demos, meetings with clients/investors, and accepting an industry award. They will showcase 2 leading external light source (ELS) products focused on AI networks and high-bandwidth applications: - POET Blazar™: A groundbreaking, highly integrated hybrid laser that advances their “semiconductorization of photonics” approach. It’s designed for co-packaged optics (CPO), high-power multi-wavelength output, chip-to-chip data communications, and powering AI scale-up/scale-out networks. It emphasizes lower costs, scalability, and efficiency compared to traditional lasers. - POET Starlight™ (next-generation): An upgraded version of their initial ELS, featuring a compact engine with eight-channel high-power lasers at multiple wavelengths, targeting 1.6Tbps+ applications and chip-to-chip links. If OFC brings strong demos, partnerships or orders, it could ignite again. POET held up relatively well yesterday compared to many tech stocks, though it did experience some intraday volatility in a terrible market enviroment. @ethaantran It doesn’t change my bullish thesis around $378/month US supply chain from laser -> design -> assembly being very mispriced at $8B with $AAOI. But it does change some views on share appreciation, as ATMs are very net negative way to get there ($250m was fine after projections). Doubling that by another $250m after the first ATM gives left a very bearish impression like what $POET did. And now, main concern is doing it again after their new round finishes. @kaizen_investorMar 11, 2026 · 6:02 PM

Last Monday, I took a position in $POET at $6.52. Here is my business case As artificial intelligence models continue to grow in complexity, the conventional copper cables used to transport data within a hyperscale data center are no longer sufficient, having reached their physical limits in term of bandwidth, latency, and thermal dissipation. The data transmission industry is in a state of change to a more efficient method of data transmission using light. The conventional method of photonics manufacturing is a labor-intensive and time-consuming process that requires microscopic lenses to be manually adjusted to achieve optimal light transmission. This process is naturally limiting in terms of efficiency and is not conducive to a high-volume manufacturing scenario. $POET breaks all of this convention with their semiconductorization of photonics. Wafer-Scale Passive Alignment: The POET Optical Interposer makes use of conventional complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor processes to etch waveguides and alignment features directly into a silicon wafer. The LEGO Method: Bare die components, which include lasers and electronic chips, are flip-chip assembled onto the interposer using automated pick-and-place machinery. This allows components to be snapped together automatically, eliminating the active alignment bottleneck. Architectural Superiority: The POET method is far superior to conventional methods due to their ability to operate at a massive wafer scale, reducing the overall Bill of Materials by a significant amount and minimizing overall assembly time. Additionally, their highly integrated optical engines consume much less power overall, saving up to 6-8 watts per module individually. Product Innovation: The POET flagship product, the 1.6T Teralight engine, is a highly innovative optical engine. It incorporates a unique design utilizing four 2x200G Electro-absorption Modulated Lasers, effectively cutting in half the number of discrete laser chips. Financial De-risking and Structural Health The biggest risk for early-stage hardware companies is running out of capital. POET has successfully neutralized this near-term liquidity risk. Between October 2025 and January 2026, the company successfully raised a combined $225 million via institutional private placements and registered direct offerings. This big capital injection bolstered the balance sheet to ~$350 million in cash and marketable securities. The company maintains a clean capital structure, with almost no debt obligations. This pristine balance sheet provides a multi-yea runway to execute its commercial ramp without the threat of further dilutive financing. Commercial Validation and Valuation Realism POET's technical roadmap is developing into commercial reality. The company recently secured a $5m production order for its 800G Infinity optical engines, scheduled for delivery to a leading systems integrator in the second half of 2026. POET is also embedded with global manufacturing heavyweights such as Foxconn Interconnect Technology and Luxshare Tech, alongside strategic partnerships with component leaders like Semtech and Mitsubishi Electric. A rigorous Reverse Discounted Cash Flow analysis underscores the immense upside potential relative to POET's $1.04 billion market capitalization. To strictly justify its current enterprise value, POET has to reach a Free Cash Flow of $117.39m by the year 2036. Assuming a conservative 15% Free Cash Flow margin, they should reach an annual top-line revenue requirement of around $782.6m by 2036. The silicon photoincs market is projected to be $28.75b by 2034. POET only needs to capture around 2.7% of this market to justify its current valuation. Conclusion POET Technologies is a premier high-reward investment for the upcoming AI supercycle. The company offers a disruptive, legally defensible, and structurally protected hardware platform that solves the most pressing physical bottleneck in modern AI network scaling. While manufacturing yield execution remains the primary risk, the massive liquidity buffer and definitive validation from tier-one industry partners heavily skew this binary setup toward immense upside potential.

My strategy for investing in early-stage companies... I get lots of questions about companies like $POET $LWLG $ALMU etc. These companies appeal to many investors becuase they are early. Sometimes being early comes at a cost. You face execution risk Commercialization risk Dilution risk But if you pick a long ter winner, you get exposed to significant upside. There are really two ways to play these companies. You can either position yourself before the inflection point (typically this is proof of commercialization). Or you wait until you get this proof and then take a position. There is no 'right' way to do it necessarily. It's just dependent on the level of risk you want. Being earlier carries more risk but more potential upside. So, how do I position my portfolio to have exposure to these earlier, higher-risk companies? If you haven't read my tagged post yet, go read it. My strategy here really isn't that different. It just falls earlier on the time line. I will use $POET as an example today because I know many people have followed me for that coverage My process so far has looked like this: I first heard about $POET early last summer. I was compelled by the science the more I researched, and I saw potential in the optics supercycle that was to come. So I took a starter position. Then every time they hit certain milestones that felt like progress, I bought some more. Some concrete examples of this for me were the following: - Their $5M purchase order - Partnering with QCi for 3.2T - Celestial AI being acquired by Marvell Every subsequent milestone the company gets more 'de-risked', I increase my position size, regardless of the share price. Obviously I want to time my buys well, but for theses companies if the thesis is right it won't matter if I'm buying at 6 or 5. Now here is the other reality. If they don't hit milestones, then I trim my position. This hasn't happened yet, but here are some milestones I am watching: - Additional significant dilution without meaningful business updates prior - 5m purchase order delayed - Lack of additional orders for CY26 This is generally how I approach these companies at this stage. Belief in the tech, the story, and the management is what gets me in the door. Then execution is what keeps me in. For every company I track, I have a catalyst & milestone calendar that I track that keeps me locked in and helps me build conviction over time Hope you found this helpful and let's you see into my brain a bit! This is just for educational purposes. Not financial advice. Again, investing in pre-commercial companies carries significant risk.

$POET – long term Setup in the AI Infrastructure Race $POET is positioning itself at the center of the next wave of AI data center infrastructure. The company develops photonic integrated packaging built on its Optical Interposer platform, a technology designed to integrate electronic and photonic components on a single chip using semiconductor-style manufacturing. In simple terms, POET enables data centers to move data using light instead of copper — a critical advantage as AI workloads demand faster, more efficient data transfer. The long-term thesis revolves around the explosive growth of AI infrastructure and the increasing demand for optical interconnects. POET’s patented platform aims to replace costly, hand-assembled optical components with scalable manufacturing, making high-speed photonics more accessible for large-scale deployment. A major validation came through the Marvell acquisition of Celestial AI, whose photonic fabric architecture is built on POET’s Optical Interposer platform. That deal effectively positioned POET as a key supplier within a rapidly expanding AI hardware ecosystem. Operational progress is also taking shape. Production capability in Malaysia is active, and the company has already secured orders tied to next-generation optical engines. As data centers transition toward faster networking standards, POET’s technology could become increasingly relevant. From a technical perspective, the chart structure continues to show constructive price action with higher lows building underneath a key resistance area. Patterns like this often signal accumulation as investors position ahead of potential catalysts. That said, this remains an early-stage semiconductor company. Revenue is still minimal and profitability has not yet been achieved, meaning execution and production scaling will be critical going forward. Dilution risk and short interest also add volatility to the story. POET sits at the intersection of AI infrastructure and next-generation optical connectivity. The technology is compelling, partnerships are meaningful, and the industry tailwinds are strong. The opportunity is significant — but so is the execution risk. High conviction narrative, high volatility profile. Not financial advice. Do your own research.

@james_kittiphan I just found $POET to be low downside risk given they're sitting on like $400m cash with a $1B MC. Then $MRVL probably won't swap them out for 2028-2029 commercialization ramp. That being said, will sit on close to $0 revenue for awhile, so I personally found maybe waiting latter half of 2026 is probably better. For others who have the patience now, seems like good upside for the wait.

🚨Is $LITE coming for $POET? Lumentum recently announced it's push to provide ELS aimed at CPO This is a major market for $POET And carries serious implications How do I read this development? Let's dig in... Lumentum's recent statements regarding External Light Sources (ELS) in their earnings call and again at Morgan Stanley signal a major strategic shift that strongly validates the market $POET is targeting, while simultaneously introducing Lumentum as a formidable direct competitor in the ELS module space. For context, $LITE already sells optical components and transceiver modules into the data center networking ecosystem. What’s notable in their recent commentary is the emphasis on ELS modules specifically designed for next-generation AI architectures and Co-Packaged Optics (CPO). Let's dig into what Lumentum is saying about ELS and what it means for POET. 1. Expanding Positioning Within the Optical Stack Lumentum has stated it now has a “clear line of sight” into the broader ELS market and intends to participate more holistically by building pluggable ELS modules. An ELS module is not a full optical transceiver. Instead, it acts as a centralized light engine that generates and stabilizes laser output, which can then feed multiple optical engines located near compute or switch silicon. This architecture is designed for next-generation systems where optical engines are co-packaged with switching or AI processors. 2. Dramatically Higher Revenue Content Lumentum has indicated that by selling a packaged ELS module rather than just laser content within another assembly, they can capture two to two-and-a-half times more revenue content per unit. This reflects a move up the value chain where they would be supplying a higher-level subsystem rather than just photonic components. Higher dollar content per AI rack means stronger strategic positioning in next-generation data center architectures. 3. Providing Turnkey Optical Solutions While some companies (such as NVIDIA) have deep internal optical engineering expertise, many new participants entering the AI infrastructure ecosystem do not. Lumentum has noted that new partners increasingly want turnkey optical solutions rather than having to integrate raw lasers themselves. ELS modules simplify that integration by providing stabilized light sources that can plug directly into optical engines used in AI networking systems. 4. Addressing the CPO Serviceability Problem Co-Packaged Optics places optical engines extremely close to high-power switch ASICs or AI accelerators to reduce electrical trace length and improve power efficiency. However, embedding lasers directly next to those chips creates a reliability concern where if a laser fails, replacing it could require replacing the entire compute board. ELS architectures address this by keeping the lasers in a separate pluggable module. If a laser degrades or fails, the module can be replaced without disturbing the expensive compute hardware. So, what does this mean for $POET ? A good bit of POET’s product roadmap, including the LightBar, Starlight, and Blazar product lines, is centered on providing packaged light source solutions designed for AI optical engines and CPO architectures. Lumentum’s aggressive positioning in this area has several implications. 1. Strong Market Validation POET’s core thesis is that next-generation AI infrastructure will require externalized light engines to power chip-to-chip optical communication. Lumentum’s statements that the market needs turnkey ELS modules, particularly as new participants enter the AI ecosystem, reinforce that this is becoming an important architectural layer in future data centers. When a large incumbent emphasizes the same architecture, it suggests the market opportunity is real. 2. Direct and Resource-Rich Competition Lumentum is now positioning itself as a supplier of ELS modules rather than just participating at the component level. Where POET integrates third-party DFB lasers through partnerships such as Sivers Semiconductors into its Optical Interposer platform, Lumentum can vertically integrate by packaging its own Indium Phosphide (InP) lasers inside ELS modules. Vertical integration provides advantages in supply control, reliability heritage and manufacturing scale. Those factors matter in hyperscale deployments and shouldn't be understated. 3. The Packaging vs. Vertical Integration Dynamic - With Lumentum actively pursuing the ELS market, POET’s differentiation centers on its Optical Interposer architecture. POET claims its platform enables wafer-scale passive attachment of lasers and optical components, eliminating expensive manual alignment processes common in photonic packaging. If scalable at yield, this could significantly reduce optical module assembly cost. - Also, high-performance optical communication lasers require Indium Phosphide (InP). POET has suggested that architectures like its Blazar light source could reduce the intensity of InP usage relative to traditional laser implementations. If accurate, this could be beneficial in an environment where InP supply remains constrained (which we have discussed extensively the last few months) - Lumentum is emphasizing the reliability of its lasers, originally engineered for demanding telecom applications such as long-haul and undersea networks, as a key advantage for AI infrastructure. For POET, demonstrating that third-party lasers integrated on its Optical Interposer meet hyperscaler reliability requirements will be critical for large-scale deployment. So the TLDR; The ELS layer is becoming an even more important and relevant architectural component of AI data center networking. It is part of how next-generation AI infrastructure may be designed. Lumentum’s entry validates the opportunity. But it also means companies like POET must demonstrate cost, reliability, and scalable manufacturing as they ramp production, including their Malaysia manufacturing partnerships, in order to compete in a market that is rapidly attracting large, vertically integrated incumbents. $QUBT is taking big strides to make quantum tech a reality, though the stock slipped 1.5% after earnings. The main takeaway is their pivot from pure research to physical manufacturing. While actual revenue is tiny, just under $200k, it tripled year-over-year. Crucially, they raised a massive $750 million, securing a long runway to handle rising operating expenses. They recently opened their first chip factory, are planning a second, and acquired Luminar Semiconductor to bring supply chains in-house. A new AI partnership with $POET also shows strong commercial promise. Ultimately, QUBT is burning cash rapidly but now has the deep pockets needed to bring ambitious products to market.

@HyperTechInvest Good question! For me I like to be early with a starter and then DCA as the conviction builds. I'd rather be too early than too late. But that being said, I leave money on the sidelines for certain progress markers. $Poet receiving their 5m order was one. $Almu latest earnings call was another. So at each milestone I think shows progress, I take some more. Once either one gets a significant 1) order or 2) partner, they will see lots of inflow IMO But the frustrating part about getting in early is dilution (so far only on POET side, but ALMU I hope will raise soon because that would show a greater inflection).
