$HOOD back at $100 is really nice to see, but it's also because of some core catalysts that the market is pricing in: - tapping into agentic trading TAM which can seriously scale trading volumes as it grows - the world cup, in the first few days, has already been MASSIVE for prediction markets volume which can substantially increase Q2/Q3 earnings estimates, especially since $HOOD operates some of the volume on their own exchange now - rate cut narrative is bullish for all tech stocks, would be very bullish for trading volumes and oil below $80 can help put cuts back on the table - Trump accounts growing fast on Robinhood - insiders have bought $50M worth of stock at around $80, signaling that directors feel pretty bullish that the worst may have been priced in Robinhood fell last Q because of 15% rev growth and misses on EPS/Revenue as the street expectations were still too high. Although they have tough comps for the rest of the year, the new TAMs they are tapping into is likely what the street is frontrunning even without seeing the earnings. Additionally, the BIGGEST thing that has happened for $HOOD in the past month is the divergence from $BTC. If it was really trading with Bitcoin, it should have barely been above $75 right now. The fact that the other parts of the business are seen independently from Bitcoin is VERY good and if that continues AND $BTC eventually comes back, it could really set them up for a strong end of year.

Here is why this matters so much for Robinhood specifically. $HOOD is the highest beta way to play risk appetite in the entire market. When fear leaves and money floods back into stocks and crypto, no platform captures that wave faster. A peace deal ending a four month war that sent energy prices soaring and shook the global economy is exactly the kind of fear-off catalyst that brings retail roaring back. And crypto is the key. Robinhood’s one soft spot last quarter was crypto revenue down 47%. War and uncertainty crush risk assets like crypto first. Peace does the opposite. As the geopolitical overhang lifts and risk appetite returns, crypto recovers, and that recovery stacks directly on top of a business that already grew revenue 15% even while crypto was cut in half. The weakest part of the story turns into a tailwind. Now look at everything else already firing. Platform assets hit $377 billion, up 48% year over year. 27.7 million funded customers. Equity trading volume up 75%. They just got regulatory approval to underwrite IPOs, opening a high margin revenue line that does not depend on trading activity. $HOOD looks like one of the easiest longs on the board right now. Crypto is the only thing weighing it down and the rest of the business is firing on every cylinder. Crypto revenue fell 47% year over year last quarter. That is the entire weak spot. And yet total revenue still grew 15% to $1.07 billion. Their biggest headwind dragged crypto down nearly in half and the company still posted double digit revenue growth. That tells you how strong everything else is. The new investor numbers are incredible. Funded customers grew to 27.4 million. Net deposits of $18 billion in a single quarter at a 22% annualized growth rate. Total platform assets up 39% to $307 billion. Gold subscribers hit a record 4.3 million, up 36% year over year. New money and new users are pouring onto the platform every single day. Now the revenue streams, because this is where it gets impressive. Equities revenue up 46%. Options up 8%. Net interest revenue up 24% to $359 million. And the one that jumps off the page. Other transaction revenue, mostly prediction markets, up 320% to $147 million. Prediction markets are brand new and already exploding. Robinhood Banking grew 5x since last earnings. Retirement assets crossed $30 billion. The Gold Card is doing $15 billion in annualized purchase volume. This is the financial super app thesis playing out in real time. They acquire a customer once and stack product after product on top. Prediction markets, banking, retirement, the card, futures, index options. The AI trade is on fire. But owning the future of subsea defense with $KRKNF feels undeniably asymmetrical. The stock is now on $HOOD and renewed enthusiasm around drones is lifting the sector. It was undeniable that capital would rotate back into good defense bargains after quite the cool off, and many stocks like $KRKNF are trading well off their all time highs. And now a big UUV story is the cherry on top. AUKUS is the defense pact between Australia, the UK and the US largest designed to counter China. Tbh not a whole lot has happened with it. Pillar 1 was about getting nuclear submarines out to Australia for the Indo Pacific. Slow, expensive, will take many years. Pillar 2 is where things get interesting as it pools the three nations' best technology. And Hegseth, Healey and Marles just signed the first signature Pillar 2 project. It's a shared suite of multi-mission payloads and sensors that plug into all three navies' underwater drone fleets. First deliveries land in 2027. In other words, the western alliance just committed to building underwater drones at scale, on a common standard, with an accelerated timeline due to everything in the Strait and increase undersea cable tampering incidents. Now connect it to $KRKNF. The drone hull is just a tube. The real value is what goes inside (Power/Sonar/Navigation/Comms/Software). Kraken has a near monopolistic position of all of it. With excellent EBTIDA margins in everything. SeaPower batteries already power Anduril's entire UUV fleet - Anduril tweeted celebrating this announcement by the way. Kraken's sonar is integrated across 20+ vehicle platforms. And with Covelya, Kraken now has Sonardyne navigation, BlueComm optical comms, and EIVA software (many of these products are also used by Anduril like Sonardyne). So everything they're talking about to connect these drones on a shared standard will undoubtedly involve Kraken's technology. May be a quieter edge here too. Covelya's Sonardyne is UK based (AUKUS member nation). We are all on the edge of our seats to see a big Anduril subsea order outside of Australia, but it's important to note Kraken wins with increased spending and attention here no matter what logo is stamped on the hull of subsea drones. This is critical technology in a very high barrier to entry category, and we have our profitable small cap that owns the most valuable components in the subsea defense supercycle to go long with. Really excited for this. In an agentic world, so many financial decision can be automated or prompted to be done in a way that can help someone legitimately trade or just make better decisions around their spending habits. Robinhood will get access to first-party data and as a result be able to then build more products on top of these that help users better engage with their AI suite. I know the stock hasn't done the best this year, but that doesn't mean execution and launching new products has to slow down. @tan7622 $HOOD is going to have issues until $BTC turns around. Right now, they are trying to find ways to generate revenue outside of trading volumes, but those continue to be the core drivers. Eventually crypto will come back but the market is going to take away some of their premium for now, long term the global financial thesis for millennials/gen Z is very much in tact. Just AI/Datacenters is the core focus for the market right now.

I don’t think one has to win for the other to lose because they are attacking different parts of consumer finance. Robinhood is the higher-quality fintech compounder with a cleaner disruption story but I think SoFi is the more misunderstood risk/reward setup where sentiment is much worse than the business metrics.

Maybe I’m not allowed to speak as I’m sold at $70 and $HOOD is still at $72 at the moment. But it’s not that you couldn’t see this coming. Robinhood has a wonderful platform and had a disruptive business model. But the financial industry is changing rapidly and Hood is just too slow or ignorant. As Jobs beautifully described once, the tech needs to fulfill the needs of the customer. You start from the customer needs and build your platform/tech based on that. Lately, hood is doing it the other way around. Investors did not ask for prediction markets or fancy chairs you can buy on the platform. Yet, they are forced upon it. Investors want fast and cheap access to all markets and financial products. $IBKR for example gave investors access to European markets and recently even to Korean markets. They feel the customer needs and act upon it. $HOOD will keep on innovating and probably find a way back but they need to do it the right way.

Somewhere along the way it started feeling more like a casino than a brokerage. Prediction markets. Meme coin trading. Event contracts. These are not bad products in isolation. But when your core crypto revenue just dropped 47% in a single quarter it tells you exactly how fragile revenue built on speculation and hype actually is. Meanwhile look at what happened to $IBKR this quarter. Interactive Brokers revenues up 20% year over year. Customer accounts growing. Daily average revenue trades accelerating. Why. Because when tariff chaos hit and international markets started moving violently people needed a serious broker with access to every global market. IBKR gave them that. Robinhood gave them prediction markets on whether the Fed would cut rates. The 27.4 million funded accounts at Robinhood are real. The 15% revenue growth year over year is real. The bones of this business are genuinely good. But the path forward is not more gambling products. It is becoming the premium retail brokerage that a generation of investors actually needs. Banking. Retirement. International markets. Wealth management. The Platinum Card is a step in the right direction. Still holding. Still believe in the long term. But the product needs to come back to what made this company great.

Product innovation from $HOOD would have been enabling international stock trading ASAP. Instead they doubled down on "prediction markets" + "raffles" + new crapcoin listings where retail recklessly lose their money. They also lost retail to $IBKR that now enabled Korean stock trading. Especially due to international stock growth from Taiwah, Korea, Europe, Japan. As a result, we saw new IBKR accounts grow to an all time high this quarter (just from qualitative experiences). My opinion is $HOOD missed earnings since they lost track of what they should actually do to help out retail investors. If they had retail investors all spending tons of TX fees from int. Equities trading, likely more margin usage, fees, cash on platform, wealth appreciation, and so on, which is the basis of the platform. Maybe things would have gone better despite digital asset downturn.

I sold my complete $CRWD position at $400 with a profit of 66%. AI is changing the cybersecurity sector rapidly and it is difficult to predict what comes next. Anthropic is constantly evolving the cybersecurity methods and companies have to follow. I sold my $NET position a couple of months ago and now decided to completely leave the sector. I always believed that cybersecurity would play a huge role in this AI revolution. I still believe that, I just can’t predict how exactly. It’s a sector you constantly have to monitor as it changes rapidly in an unpredictable way. There is a lot of uncertainty around software and cybersecurity can’t escape this. I believe there are better opportunities in the market now and better ways to use my research time than to follow this sector. I still got the sales of $HOOD and $CRWD in cash. Most people still think of Robinhood as a meme stock trading app. That narrative is years out of date. $4.5 billion in revenue in 2025. Record EPS of $2.05. Record net deposits of $68 billion. 4.2 million Gold subscribers. 11 separate business lines each generating over $100 million in annualized revenue. The stock is down 50% from its highs anyway. Let me walk through what is actually being built. Prediction Markets launched at the end of 2024 and is already the fastest growing product line by revenue in company history. In one year they traded 11 billion contracts with over 1 million customers. By October 2025 alone they processed 2.5 billion contracts in a single month, more than all of Q3. That is 3x sequential growth in one month. January 2026 event contracts grew another 17% month over month to $3.4 billion. This thing is not slowing down. And they just went all in on it. Robinhood partnered with Susquehanna and acquired MIAXdx, a CFTC-licensed exchange and clearinghouse. They now own the infrastructure. Analysts at Barclays and Piper Sandler estimate this joint venture could boost prediction market profitability by roughly 45%. The US sports betting market alone is $20 billion annually. Prediction markets are eating into that TAM and Robinhood is the dominant retail platform. Then there is the Platinum Card. Just announced. $695 annual fee. Over $3,000 in perks. 10% cash back on hotels. 5% on dining. Plated in real platinum. Invite only. They are going directly at American Express and JPMorgan for the premium customer. The Gold Card already has 600,000 users and counting. Banking deposits just crossed $1 billion. These are not trading revenues. This is sticky, recurring, high margin money that does not disappear when markets go quiet. Crypto revenue was up over 300% year over year in Q3. Options up 50%. Bitstamp acquisition gives them a global crypto exchange footprint. Tokenization of real world assets is live. Robinhood Cortex AI is rolling out to Gold subscribers now. International expansion in the UK and EU is accelerating. Analysts project $5.46 billion in revenue for 2026, up 22% year over year, with EBITDA margins expanding toward 59%. Wall Street consensus price target sits at $131 across 21 analysts with 15 buy ratings. Bull case targets go to $180. By 2030, analysts see the stock approaching $191 as banking, prediction markets, and international revenues compound on top of the core trading business. The stock is at $72. The business being built here looks nothing like what the market is pricing.
