The market is de-risking and we see that in the energy storage wave. Nuclear and ES are the most speculative waves and the P/S of those two drops significantly. The P/S of the ES wave dropped from 3.98 to 3.27, thanks to some big drops from $EOSE, $FLNC, $ENVX and $CATL. Contemporary Amperex Technology is still by far the most important stock in the wave. The revenues grew by 14% QoQ and 20% YoY while the market cap dropped 7% QoQ and grew 40% YoY. The most speculative companies in the sector dropped more than 50% in the last quarter. This wave is lucky that CATL and LG are far more important than the little speculative ones or this wave would have been catastrophic. I have exposure to this wave thanks to $FLNC. I expect the importance of energy storage to increase in the coming years. It can still take a while though.

$AMPX is a significantly misunderstood company in the advanced energy storage space, particularly in the current supercycle. In light of the shift from a cash-burning R&D facility to a cash-generating business, there is a tangible pathway for significant upside. Price Target: $16.34 → $61.30 (bull case) Amprius is typically understood as a capital-intensive hardware start-up with significant chemistry-related challenges. This interpretation is incomplete and inaccurate. Amprius is not competing in the commoditized, high-volume electric vehicle battery space. Instead, $AMPX is evolving into a monopolistic, high-margin supplier of batteries for aerospace, drone, and defense applications via a capital-light contract manufacturing business model. My $AMPX thesis: 1. Capital-Light Economics This is the most important concept in understanding the Amprius business and its fundamental shift in financial trajectory. Battery competitors are in a race to reduce raw material costs associated with battery cells. Amprius has divested from a burdensome $110 million facility lease in Colorado. They transitioned to a capital-light contract manufacturing business through the Amprius Korea Battery Alliance. The Pivot: By shifting to specialized toll manufacturers, they preserve capital while scaling beyond 2.0 GWh. The Unit Economics: This pivot drove explosive leverage. In the fourth quarter of 2025, Amprius achieved a gross margin of 24% and delivered its first positive quarterly non-GAAP adjusted EBITDA of $1.8 million. 2. The Unreplicable Moat: High Switching Costs and Legislative Lock-In Competitors like $ENVX and Sila may be able to successfully enter the consumer electronics or automotive industries, but they will be unable to replicate Amprius’s moat in the aerospace industry. Total Vendor Lock-In: Since Amprius’s battery chemistry is to be deployed in high-altitude satellites or drones, it will need to be extensively tested for years to come. Switching to a heavier competitor would force OEMs to completely redesign their airframes. NDAA Dominance: Amprius has certified that all 11 internal components of their cells are sourced from compliant allied nations. 3. Financial Stability The advanced battery market is marked by capital-intensive bankruptcies. However, Amprius’s balance sheet is something to be taken seriously. Cash and Liquidity: Amprius closed 2025 with $90.47 million in cash and a current ratio of 6.65x. Pristine Debt Profile: The company operates with a net debt of -$50.59 million, meaning cash vastly outweighs any trace liabilities. 4. Revenue Quality and Pricing Power An examination of Amprius’s top line will reveal why Amprius is such a defensible company. Explosive Growth: For the year 2025, Amprius reported 202% year-over-year revenue growth to $73.01 million. Pricing Power: Because an Amprius cell delivers up to 200% runtime improvement, they command a massive price premium per kilowatt-hour. Customers happily pay this because doubling a drone's flight time effectively halves the required fleet size. 5. The Sleeping Giant: The Defense Supercycle There is a geopolitical shift toward unmanned tactical mobility. The TAM for batteries in unmanned aerial systems (UAS) is estimated at $27.0 billion by 2030. Amprius is already capturing this demand, recently securing a $35 million repeat purchase order from a leading drone manufacturer, proving field testing is turning into fleet-wide implementation. Valuation Discrepancy The company is currently trading at a significant discount. Using the firm's 2026 revenue guidance of $125.0 million in revenue, Amprius is currently trading at a forward price-to-sales ratio of 15.5x. This is in stark contrast to its direct competitor, $ENVX, which is currently trading at a forward price-to-sales ratio of 37.3x despite its cash burn and lower revenue. A thorough discounted cash flow analysis was done, and the results show that in order for Amprius to reach its current valuation, the company would need to achieve $2.51 billion in revenue by 2035. This equates to a revenue growth rate of 39.5%. Given the company's recent growth rate of 202% and the $27 billion TAM in the drone industry, this is certainly achievable. Summary $AMPX is a fundamentally strong, validated pure-play equity in the extreme mobility space. It is a high-margin monopolistic supplier in the aerospace industry and is currently trading at a fraction of its long-term earning potential. When Wall Street finally realizes this is a high-margin, monopolistic aerospace enabler and not just another struggling EV battery startup, the multiple expansion will be violent.

$ENVX Enovix investors, getting through today's earnings call and wanted to share some thoughts. I think the call might not be as bad as we think, especially with that purchase order from a Silicon Valley based company for AI1 batteries in smart glasses. Could be a game changer. They're buying back their own stock which makes me think they're really confident in their tech and this partnership. If they're willing to invest in themselves maybe they're seeing some big wins ahead. I'm thinking it could be a big player like Snap, Vuzix, Meta, Google, or Amazon. What do you guys think? Is management's confidence rubbing off on you?

@StockSavvyShay I would change $ENVX with $AMPX. $ENVX is more for small electronics while $AMPX is really specialised in drones and aviation. The batteries of $AMPX are also superior in the drone technology than those of $ENVX.

@polaronfinance Mainly $ENVX, they use silicon slices while $AMPX uses nanowires. But their technology is mainly used for smaller electronics. The nanowires “breath”, so they take a little bit more space while doing so, the silicon slices don’t which is better for smartwatches/phones for example

William Blair on $ENVX CFO tour: On Friday, August 15, we hosted Enovix CFO Ryan Benton for a series of investor meetings. Our time with Benton was encouraging; his experience strengthens the management team, and we expect clients to have a similar impression. We got an update on CEO Dr. Raj Talluri’s customer tour in China, the warrant transaction, and the key catalyst of the first smartphone purchase order. We reiterate our Outperform rating, and advise adding exposure during any volatility ahead of an inflection in the Enovix story later this year. Dr. Talluri was in China visiting smartphone customers and posted images on LinkedIn at Xiaomi and Vivo, two probable candidates for the lead customer, in our opinion. Six months ago, the team focused all resources on getting the lead customer over the goal line. Benton explained that the purpose of the China tour was to let customers know Enovix is open for business and now has bandwidth to reengage with more customers. The first qualification is the most arduous, but after Enovix debuts its first commercial success, we expect timelines to truncate as rival smartphone OEMs vie for allocation. In our conversations with equity and convert holders, investors have been enthusiastic about the deal structure. Thus far, $50 million of the total $253.8 million has been exercised early. The stock has traded above $10.50 for 18 of the last 19 days, a strong indication it will trigger the early exercise feature of 20 out of 30 days, and the company will be able to close on the transaction well ahead of the October 1, 2026, expiration date. Management believes this growth capital will complete all four lines in Malaysia, providing a path to over $500 million in revenues by our estimates. Benton was very confident that the deep two-year engagement with the lead customer has little risk of last-minute design tweaks and in securing a PO by end of year. We expect an order for roughly 100,000 units to get Enovix batteries in the field in a diverse set of regions, a common rollout technique in smartphones. The smallest of China’s OEMs produce 100 million units a year, so a 20% share will fill two lines in Malaysia. After the field test, we anticipate a large follow-on order and competition to set in among other customers for allocation. Two Common Questions on Competition. First, how does David (Enovix) beat Goliath (ATL)? What is not understood is that even in China, smartphone OEMs desperately want a second source supplier for supply chain resiliency and leverage. On top of that, Enovix’s AI-1 is now the best in the industry at 900 Wh/L, besting ATL’s premier battery at 815 Wh/L by 10%, incredibly valuable to customers. Second, won’t advanced silicon materials render Enovix architecture unnecessary? They do provide higher energy density, but swelling still limits loading below 10%. Enovix’s design enables 100% loading of advanced silicon materials, a true “one plus one equals three” situation. We expect to see this in AI-2. Valuation and Risks. Enovix trades at 19x our 2026 EV/sales estimate. We expect volatility to remain as investors digest the impacts of the warrant distribution; however, underneath, management is executing against its key milestone of launching a smartphone product in the fourth quarter. We see any volatility ahead of the PO and ramp-up toward the end of the year as buying opportunities. Investor risks include technology risk with Enovix’s unique cell architecture, scaling risks and timeline shifts at Fab2 in Malaysia, customer concentration risks, and competition risks from incumbent and other next-generation battery technologies.
