$FLY is running $NVDA compute from the moon and down 53% since May? Firefly has long been my favorite space stock and looks very attractive at $27/share ($4.5B MC). One of its slept on superpowers is monetizing the vast data it collects, and this capability is being highlighted on the $NVDA blog. Blue Ghost 1 sent home 120GB of raw lunar data that scientists are STILL processing a year later. NASA even issued a $10M follow on order to buy more data than they originally negotiated. On Blue Ghost 2 this year, Firefly's Ocula imaging service runs $NVDA Jetson directly in lunar orbit. First time edge AI has ever operated around the moon. Instead of dumping raw data down to Earth, Ocula runs the inference ON ORBIT and beams back only what the customer wants, in near real time. $SPCX / $RKLB / $FLY "The end goal is to develop and deploy effective response mechanisms to rapidly restore critical services to minimum levels or higher, on tactical timelines of hours to weeks, in response to demand surge needs, lost assets resulting from potential adversaries’ [anti-satellite weapons] engagements, or orbital debris collisions," the RFI states. With adversary advancements in the space domain putting more demand on the Space Force, the service has been exploring ways to increase the resiliency of its constellations. While one method has been proliferating large numbers of satellites on orbit to add redundancy, the Space Force also wants to reduce the time it takes to put new systems in space.

Meanwhile, True Anomaly's Jackal-004 was launched on May 3 aboard SpaceX's CAS500-2 mission. Today, the spacecraft was reported in orbit over New Zealand, adding another data point that suggests Victus Haze may be taking place today. Repeating my $RKLB analysis approach for $FLY — revenue multiples are nonsense and we can't really build a DCF for a business this early and this lumpy. Here's another way to look at it. Starting from FY25 revenue of $159.86m, assume FY30 lands at: > EBITDA Margin: 25% (negative today, but SciTec already contributes c.half of revenue at high software margins, Blue Ghost moving from bespoke builds to assembly-line production brings scale economies as lunar grows fastest, Ocula layers high-margin recurring lunar imagery/data on top of already-funded missions, and launch cadence ramps to drive operating leverage) > EBITDA Multiple: 40x (Way above traditional primes at 16–20x) > Discount rate: Back 5yrs at 20% to today (Seems a reasonable target rate of return?) From the below table you can see the spot ($58.81) implies a CAGR of ~70% from FY25 revenues. But I think the market is wrong: >Management have guided FY26 revenue of $420–450m — c.170% growth at the midpoint. >5 lunar landers in 2027 could deliver a further ~100%+ on top, and with NASA targeting up to 30 landers a year FLY should ramp toward c.10 a year by 2028–29. > Eclipse should command c.$60m+ per launch on medium-lift economics (Falcon 9 lists ~$70m for more payload) and scale from there; > Alpha Block II is c.$15m a launch and scaling; with hypersonics demand booming; > Ocula will see huge demand as the only commercial lunar imaging service just as government orbiters age out. > Critically, SciTec is now winning the defence dollars behind Golden Dome, a role on the Space Force's Space-Based Interceptor programme, and both Firefly and SciTec onboarded to the Missile Defense Agency's SHIELD IDIQ ($151bn ceiling), high-margin software stacked on the hardware. > Add their own recent $75m NASA JPL MoonFall contract for four lunar drones (could this be the first of many?) Blend c.170% in 2026 with c.100%+ in 2027 (could be achieved from landers alone) and that's a c.130% CAGR over the two years to 31 December 2027. Even if the latter three years slow to a 75% CAGR, the five-year blend is c.96%, supporting a present-day value of ~$117, comfortably above spot. PS. Scitec alone could land a huge contract that could carry the business.

As a long-term space investor, I do see NASA’s decision to raise the CLPS 1.0 contract ceiling from $2.6B to $4.2B as a clear signal of accelerating lunar cadence. This $1.6B uplift provides substantial room for additional task orders ahead of CLPS 2.0. With only two companies, Firefly Aerospace $FLY and Intuitive Machines $LUNR having achieved successful soft landings, they are strongly positioned to secure the majority of near-term awards as NASA scales toward higher mission rates. Both firms already hold multiple task orders and have demonstrated execution capability. This development reinforces the growing commercial lunar economy and should drive meaningful backlog expansion for proven players. Nice post @AlmaCap114204

And $FLY is already scaling manufacturing aggressively for it. They've doubled the Cedar Park campus to 144k sq ft and stood up a cleanroom 4x the size of the old one, run as a dedicated assembly line for Blue Ghost landers (plus Elytra), built to make multiple in parallel rather than one at a time. The campus is live now, with the big cleanroom coming online through mid-2026. COO's words: turning the lander into "a production line for multiple lunar missions a year." No official throughput number yet, but at scale I suspect $FLY will be able to build well north of 5 landers a year. And as an active CLPS prime running live NASA missions, management will be in constant dialogue with NASA. You don't sink this kind of capex in without a clear read that the demand is coming > i.e. I think NASA told them "we will need 5-10 landers from you a year from 2027 onwards, build capacity now". The margins should follow too. CLPS contracts are fixed price, so whatever cost the assembly line strips out of each lander, $FLY keeps the difference. Higher volume at lower unit cost lifts the margin per lander as the line matures. It doesn't show yet. For avoidance of doubt, I am heavily long $FLY How about you anon? What do you think?

Just now they did 12M share offering at $49.50. 4M primary, 8M from selling holders, $190M of fresh cash to the company. Stock is up nearly 100% since my deep dive went out. The Elytra spacecraft uses the same proven systems that landed Blue Ghost on the Moon. MoonFall is the first phase of NASA's Moon Base initiative. $RKLB, revisiting after incredible earnings - albeit 63% revenue growth is not enough for me. > I think investors are looking at the backlog growth, forward to mynaric ramp-up and the impact of the recent acquisition and assuming growth will accelerate to 100%+ (I can see it happening tbh) > My base case is probably a 70-80% revenue CAGR following the backlog increase, noting change to backlog mix (space systems increased) and the new acquisition. So I would probably be a buyer around $70-$80 following recent news. I still prefer $FLY

$FLY, Eclipse progress looks good too: COPVs, interstage and LOX line qualified, first stage tanks in proof test, Miranda hot fire at 110% (thank you) - but timeline probably delayed (this is fine tbh). > COPVS = high-pressure helium tanks, historically the most failure-prone structural item on a launch vehicle > Interstage = the cylinder connecting stage 1 and 2; > LOX line = the cryogenic plumbing feeding oxidiser to the engines. Qualifying all three and Eclipse hot fire at 110% is meaningful de-risking. > But no maiden flight window reiterated in the Q1 deck, my bull case is now Q2 2027, base case Q3 2027. PS. I haven't been following $RKLB enough to know if they give this much visibility, but I am happy with this detail PPS. No tank explosions or similar!

The market still sees $FLY as a space stock. I see it as an orbital defense powerhouse with a lunar economy and launch lottery ticket. I've been geeking on defense since the $1.5T budget dropped. $FLY looks perfectly positioned for two massive line items. Golden Dome has $17.9B requested for FY27. $FLY bought SciTec, an AI missile tracking software company last year with $164M in revenue. 40% of $FLY's 2026 guidance is high margin, sticky and their whole workforce is security cleared, which is a big moat. SciTec already holds a $259M Space Force FORGE contract for missile tracking ground processing. The combo gives $FLY multiple shots at Golden Dome: launch, interceptors, targets, AND the fire control software that ties sensors to shooters. Hypersonics are a huge focus for the military too. The U.S. is playing catch up. China has 5 hypersonic missile series in testing. The U.S. has 3 in development and the Army just inked a $2.7B Dark Eagle production contract in March. FY27 pumps another $1.2B into HACM alone. $FLY volunteered their Alpha rocket for hypersonic testing. Then they joined the $KTOS led MACH TB 2.0 team, targeting 1 hypersonic test launch per week. Space stock? Sure. Space defense prime? Absolutely.

$FLY is up 15% today and I just added it to my portfolio. Here is why I think this could be the next $RKLB. Most people still think Firefly Aerospace is just a rocket company. It is not even close. Firefly is the only private company in history to successfully land on the Moon. Not tip over on landing like Intuitive Machines did twice. Land cleanly, operate for 14 days, and meet 100% of mission objectives. Something only entire nations with unlimited capital had ever done before. A company started in the mid 2010s that went bankrupt in 2017 came back and made lunar history. Here is the full business. Three divisions. Launch, Spacecraft, and Defense. All vertically integrated. All sharing the same carbon composite structures, common avionics, and patented tap-off cycle engines. Each business makes the others more valuable. Launch is under 20% of revenue. Spacecraft including Blue Ghost lunar landers is 45%. Defense software through the SciTec acquisition is 40%. That defense software business runs AI-powered missile warning systems. It is a high margin government software business sitting inside a space company that the market is valuing like a hardware story. 2026 revenue guidance: $435 million. That is 170% growth from 2025. 80% of that guidance is already under signed contract. Cash on the balance sheet: $893 million. Now here is the valuation gap that makes this interesting. $FLY trades at 12.5x forward EV/Revenue. $RKLB trades at 43x forward revenue on a market cap nearly seven times larger. Same sector. Same type of government contracts. Firefly has a proven lunar lander, three more Blue Ghost missions worth $487 million combined already under contract, a defense software business, and a launch vehicle. Rocket Lab has none of those lunar capabilities. Then there is the SpaceX IPO tailwind. SpaceX is targeting a June 2026 IPO at $1.75 trillion with lunar base funding as a core use of proceeds. SpaceX already launched Blue Ghost on a Falcon 9. As SpaceX turns its attention to the Moon, the question is who supplies the lunar logistics. Firefly is the only proven commercial vendor on the lunar surface. The NASA lunar economy is projected to hit $170 billion by 2040. NASA wants monthly robotic lunar cargo missions by 2027. Firefly is the proven vendor with four missions already contracted. $RKLB ran because the market eventually priced in what a vertically integrated space company with recurring government revenue and a proven track record was actually worth. $FLY is at the same stage $RKLB was before that re-rating happened.

$FLY, the market is sleeping on Scitec 50 years of missile warning. Their FORGE software turns raw infrared satellite data into real-time missile tracks. Iran has launched 1,200+ ballistic missiles across the region in the past few months. Space Force infrared satellites detect them. FORGE is the ground system that processes that data into actionable tracks for warfighters. What Scitec has now: - $164m revenue (LTM June 2025, pre-acquisition run rate) - FORGE contract: $372m (Space Force missile warning, expanded from $263m) - Eight-figure space control software contract (confidential US customer) - On the SHIELD IDIQ, the $151bn Golden Dome contract vehicle SciTec was only acquired in November 2025, barely 2 months contributed to $FLY's record $160m FY25 revenue. For FY26, $FLY guides $420-450m total revenue, with SciTec's full-year contribution a primary driver of that near-3x step up. Before FORGE expansion fully flows through. Before Golden Dome task orders. Who knows what FY27 could bring? Golden Dome is Trump's top defence priority. SciTec spans the entire chain: detection, tracking, fire control, decision superiority.

$FLY What does this mean for Ocula? Blue Ghost Mission 1's additional data led to a $10 million contract addendum from NASA. This probably doesn't mean Firefly gets $10m per lander as its more a data subscription service, but with more satellites up (each mission they will take a satellite up) the data will be more valuable and Firefly will have broader coverage of the moon. TLDR: To early to speculate on the Ocula lunar imaging constellation opportunity size and scale.

FLY beats out RKLB across multiple fronts: - Eclipse engine development is ahead of Neutron, with Miranda using a simpler tap-off engine vs RKLBs staged combustion (Archimedes); - Alpha is twice the size of electron, providing access to demand from larger satellite launches and larger hypersonic testing - with block II increasing reliability and expanding their capability, ramping up to 6-8 launches this year. - Blue Ghost launches provide an anchor customer for future eclipse launches with NASA planning block orders - I am expecting a 10 lander block order in the future following an Artemis II success, this could be $1.5 - $2.4bn dollars over 2-3 years; - Ocula lunar imaging constellation provides recurring revenue stream with no competitors - demand is going to ramp up as USA moon program moves forward; - Scitec is the market leader in missile tracking data processing, providing software revenues at extremely high growth rates

The best investments right now sit withing three megatrends: Defence; AI; and Space (including moon/lunar). There are several picks that ride all three megatrends. Two I keep coming back to: $ASTS — satellite comms, but also positioning, radar and jamming tech. The heat dissipation patents are quietly ideal for orbital AI infrastructure. $FLY — Moon landing and hypersonic launch capability. Missile tracking software. If Artemis 2 unlocks lunar data centres, Firefly is already in position. Eclipse medium lift launch capability will be in demand if AI constellations are to be built out. The multi-trend exposure here is the point. War continues > you win. Space race accelerates > you win. Peace breaks out > defence pivots to space, you still win.

$FLY: Blue Ghost-2 is set to launch no earlier than late 2026, utilizes a dual spacecraft configuration with Firefly’s Blue Ghost lunar lander stacked on Elytra Dark orbital vehicle. Elytra will first deploy Blue Ghost and the European Space Agency’s Lunar Pathfinder satellite in lunar orbit. Blue Ghost will then touch down on the far side of the Moon and support payload operations for at least 10 days on the surface while Elytra provides a communications relay and radio frequency calibration services from lunar orbit.

$FLY currently has a 43% success rate when it comes to orbital launch (they’re 3 for 7). When $RKLB was half their size (by market cap) it had already successfully reached orbit more than 50 times. They are not the same.

Ocula is designed to enable high-resolution imaging and mapping of the lunar surface at a time when other government-owned satellites, such as the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, are nearing end of life. $FLY Firefly Aerospace Inc. increased the potential size of its initial public offering to as much as $697 million. The company plans to market 16.2 million shares for $41 to $43 per share. At the top of the new range, Firefly would have a market value of $6 billion, and a fully diluted value of roughly $6.8 billion!

$FLY Firefly Aerospace said it plans to price shares at $35 to $39 apiece in its upcoming IPO. The deal would value the Texas-based rocket maker at about $5.5 billion. Firefly filed its plans to go public earlier this month and coincides its IPO with a resurgence in deal activity and the accelerating space race.
