Zscaler beat on every metric and the stock dropped 25%. EPS beat. Revenue beat. ARR beat. Gross margins beat. Operating margins beat. Cash flow beat. Billings beat. 23 straight quarters of EPS and revenue outperformance. So what happened? FY27 guidance. Management gave initial FY27 revenue and ARR growth guidance below expectations. The reason: Red Canary renewals drove a significant portion of FY26 net new ARR, and that tailwind does not repeat next year. Two senior sales executives departed. Capex guidance raised as FY27 data center spending was pulled forward. FCF outlook came down. AI monetization described as "more of a FY27 event." $ZS @zscaler My view: Zscaler (ZS) reported earnings on 2-26-2026, for its fiscal Q2 2026 after the market closed. After the report, we are left with a simple view. The market is trying to price a world where agentic AI replaces software. We think that is directionally true for some categories. But it is directionally false for security. The more agents there are, the more traffic there is. The more traffic there is, the more risk there is. And the more risk there is, the more security becomes non optional. That is the paradox and it is the core reason we continue to like this space. Zero Trust Everywhere continues to compound, Z Flex is accelerating multi module adoption, and the agentic narrative is showing up as real demand rather than a distant story. Yes, the organic versus inorganic debate will persist and the stock will remain volatile when the market is in fear mode. But nothing in this quarter looked like business decay. If anything, it looked like Zscaler is becoming more relevant as the world ships more code, more apps, and more agents into the wild. We maintain its status as a Top Pick because the setup is intact. Agentic AI expands the attack surface and compresses response time. Zscaler is built to sit inline at scale. In this environment, we would rather own the toll booth on traffic than the workflow that may get replaced. It is increasingly monetizing the control point for traffic, including machine to machine and agentic workflows, with non seat based products now a meaningful part of new ACV and growing fast.

$ZS I think (and we'll find out), that ppl are simply not understanding the firm versus software. Zscaler is not a workflow app. It's not a "Monday . com." It’s an inline security enforcement fabric sitting in the traffic path of enterprises. You cannot "vibe code" the things ZS does: • A globally distributed inspection network • Inline policy enforcement at 0.5T transactions per day • Hundreds of PoPs across continents (this is metal, racks, and chips not "code") • A zero trust control plane embedded into enterprise architecture Actually the opposite. If AI explodes the number of applications (and it will), agents, APIs, and east west workload traffic, that increases Zscaler’s surface area. More code --> more services --> more access control --> more runtime inspection. Security demand compounds. If anything, AI proliferation strengthens the thesis. When a company becomes a customer of Zscaler, their user and workload traffic is routed through Zscaler’s global edge network (its PoPs) where policy is enforced inline. This is data center locations with racks of servers running the Zero Trust Exchange software all connected to major ISPs and backbone networks. Like ya know, metal, and wires, and chips, and plastic and stuff. It's embedded into network architecture • Ripping out VPNs • Replacing branch firewalls • Tied into identity providers • Tied into endpoint posture • Feeding data to SOC workflows Not "vibe code."

seems to me that as all this AI infra is getting built out, the whole world is looking at (i) chips, (ii) energy, and even (iii) land, but the thing that will have to happen and is easier to invest in (fewer "hope" stocks) is cyber security. When these data centers come one line, they will be purchasing and deploying mass cyber security. $CRWD, $ZS, $RBRK: I think at least two of these will have a very big 2026. i.e. as a portfolio, I think that basket will do very well. (I own all three.) When I hear new data center, I think "gotta have security."
