JUST IN: AMD and Rackspace just signed a definitive agreement for 30 MW of dedicated AMD compute across Rackspace's global data centers. Deployment begins late 2026 through 2028. This converts the MOU announced May 7 into a binding deal. AMD is now a strategic technology partner at the silicon layer of Rackspace's governed AI stack. The hardware: AMD Instinct GPUs including MI355X, MI350P, and future successors alongside AMD EPYC CPUs. Not a single-product deal. A full silicon partnership across the GPU and CPU stack. The business model is what matters here. Rackspace is not selling bare metal. They are building four integrated products: Enterprise AI Cloud, Enterprise Inference Engine, Inference as a Service, and Bare Metal AMD Instinct. Managed enterprise AI infrastructure with full accountability for performance and outcomes. Healthcare providers are already expressing early interest for clinical AI and inference at scale. Regulated industries cannot run workloads on public cloud without governance and compliance layers. That is the gap Rackspace is filling with AMD silicon underneath. The positioning is explicit.
