What was actually lost vs. what's intact: Lost: The ATTR-CM (cardiomyopathy) indication, the big half of the ~$35B ATTR market. But three things matter here: - It was future optionality, not current revenue, ATTR-CM contributed $0 to today's P&L. Literally zero current revenue was destroyed this morning. - Ionis's economics there were a royalty, not full ownership. - The competitive bar was already brutal Alnylam's Amvuttra got ATTR-CM approval with a CV-outcomes win, plus BridgeBio (acoramidis) and Pfizer (tafamidis) entrenched. Eplontersen was a late 4th entrant hoping to differentiate. The Streetwas not crediting this as a sure thing. On fundamentals, this is an overreaction: ~$2.5B of market cap (18% of a ~$13.9B company) was erased over an asset that generated $0 current revenue, was a royalty-only long shot against entrenched competition, and doesn't touch any of the drivers that actually carry the stock. $CRNX is a commercial stage biotech that was significantly underperforming the $XBI this year, similar to $INSM $MDGL $ALNY $BBIO Crinetics just acquired for a 100% premium by $VRTX.
