BREAKING NEWS: The Strait of Hormuz is closed. Here is everything we know right now. What happened: The US launched a second wave of strikes against Iran on Wednesday, targeting air defense systems, radars, and drone command and control units in southern Iran. This follows Tuesday's strikes which came after Iran shot down an American Apache helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz. Both pilots survived. Trump accused Tehran of stringing the US along in negotiations. Officials described the operation as big in scale but short in duration, designed to pressure Iran back to the table. In a phone call with Fox News, Trump said the bombing would stop shortly and claimed Iran asked him to stop the strikes. He added the bombing resumes if Iran does not sign an agreement. The Strait of Hormuz: The IRGC declared the Strait fully closed and warned it would fire on any ships attempting to transit. Roughly 20% of global oil supply moves through this chokepoint. Trump disclosed a secret US military operation to escort tankers through the Strait with transponders turned off to avoid detection, claiming it brought 100 million barrels of oil to open market. Reports indicate the US has been assisting ships on the Omani side of the Strait. That is not a trade route. That is a covert military operation to move oil under threat of fire. The negotiation: The nuclear issue is the sticking point. Trump is demanding Iran destroy or dilute its stockpiles of enriched uranium. He wants a tougher deal than Obama's 2015 agreement. Iran is conditioning nuclear talks on easing sanctions and unfreezing assets first. Neither side is moving. Qatari mediators held talks with Iran on Wednesday to get negotiations back on track. Tehran has shown less willingness to resume diplomacy following the escalation. US military pressure will continue to increase until Iran agrees to Trump's demands. The timeline: Three weeks ago prediction markets had a permanent US-Iran peace deal at 72% by year end. Two weeks ago Iran state media reported an unofficial draft MOU. One week ago an Apache helicopter was shot down. Tuesday the US launched strikes. Wednesday the Strait closed and the US struck again. The market impact: Crude surging on the closure. This is the most severe energy supply disruption since the 1970s oil embargo. Core PCE was already approaching 4%. The Fed was already at 44% probability of a rate hike. The 30-year Treasury was already at post-2007 highs. Energy costs were already the primary inflation driver in the Fed's Beige Book. A closed Strait of Hormuz is an energy shock layered on top of an inflation problem the Fed has not solved. Watch crude, defense names, shipping rates, and the 30-year yield. The macro environment just changed. $SPY $USO

Israel and Iran are escalating tonight. Oil futures open in a little over an hour. Before the panic starts, read the research. We published the $100 Oil Stress Timer in the beginning of April. The framework hasn't changed. $100 oil isn't the signal. $100 oil for 30+ days is. SPY forward returns deteriorate monotonically the longer oil stays above $100. At 30+ days, SPY 10-day returns flip negative and never recover. The last time this happened: WTI spiked on Strait of Hormuz fears. FinTwit panicked. We said supply-driven spikes are sharper, shorter, and mean-revert. $107 to $91 in one week. The stress timer reset before reaching the 30-day threshold. If oil spikes tomorrow morning on the headlines, the data says the same thing it said last time. Watch the duration, not the spot price. A one-week spike is noise. A 30-day regime is a problem. We will be tracking the stress timer in real time again. Full research below. $SPY $QQQ $USO

$SPY $USO a U.S. naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz would be a severe blow to Iran. Iran’s regime relies heavily on oil exports. A successful U.S. blockade or enforced reopening under American terms would cut off or heavily tax Iran’s revenue stream while allowing Gulf allies to resume fuller exports via protected routes. Iran’s economy was already strained by sanctions and war damage, this amplifies it. I dont know if this bullish for Crude. US will now control the Straight. For some reason Crude Oil weekend futures are not rising +15% this is great news IMHO Trump’s announcement of the naval blockade is not about keeping the strait closed indefinitely. It’s a forceful measure to reopen it on American terms meaning free, safe, and unconditional navigation for all commercial shipping, without Iran charging tolls, demanding coordination/permissions, or selectively allowing traffic. Once again, I’m a rational trader, not an emotional one. I think before I act. I continue to believe that $200 oil per barrel is a mirage. Electric cars have overtaken petrol models in monthly new car registrations in Germany, following the introduction of a new subsidy programme and the sharp increase in oil prices caused by the war in Iran. Registrations of pure electric cars rose 66 percent in March 2026 compared to a year ago to almost 71,000, the country’s motor vehicle authority KBA said. The surge in EV uptake is largely attributed to higher petrol prices prompting a shift in consumer demand. I do believe $200 price of Oil is a mirage !!!

There’s a truth many prefer to overlook: consumer searches for EVs have spiked dramatically across the globe in recent weeks. Passenger cars (light-duty vehicles) and road transport as a whole account for a major share of global oil consumption, around 45-50% (about 24 million barrels per day). EVs already avoided 2.3 million barrels of oil per day in 2025. The current oil shock (driven by the geopolitical tensions and disruptions in the Middle East in early 2026) is providing a noticeable boost to EV interest and demand in many markets. Firms like Wood Mackenzie argue that sustained high oil prices (e.g., $100+ Brent) could accelerate global EV adoption, supporting their base case of ~80 million new passenger EVs from 2026–2030. In other words, the oil shock is acting as a huge catalyst that strengthens the economic and energy-security case for EVs. With EV adoption accelerating rapidly, the question arises: who will consume the oil in the long term? Road transport dominated by cars currently accounts for around 45–55% of global oil demand. I’m not against oil, it’s essential for many sectors. However, the current high prices, combined with slowing demand growth and expected supply increases, don’t support sustained elevated levels long-term. $USO $SPY

$USO $SPY Crude Oil is falling hard this morning. This appears to be a classic de-risking move as the “war premium” from the recent U.S.-Israel-Iran conflict fades. Markets had priced in significant supply risks earlier in March, pushing prices briefly above $110–$120 in spots, but optimism around resolution is now unwinding that premium rapidly. As I have been saying, oil is trading at a huge premium, fundamentals simply do not support these prices. The market is likely to refocus on the supply glut, which has been the dominant longer-term narrative. Most analysts (JPMorgan, EIA, Goldman, etc.) still see a structural oversupply looming for the rest of 2026 and into 2027.

@acinvestorblogMar 27, 2026 · 6:48 AM

$USO EV sales are speeding up everywhere. The oil price shock linked to the Hormuz situation is giving EV momentum an extra push in Europe. I never see so many EV cars in 🇵🇹 🇪🇸 In the past, spikes in fuel prices would lead to long lines at gas stations. Today, they barely make a ripple when you stop to refuel, you see hardly any cars. Only those who don’t want to see it will miss the obvious: the end of purely internal combustion vehicles is now a reality. Cars are a major driver of oil consumption. If oil prices stay elevated, the shift toward EVs in passenger cars could shave a noticeable amount off future demand. While some are dreaming of $200 oil, realistic voices see tough times ahead for crude long-term. Venezuela is back in play, so I still expect a potential glut in the months ahead, once the war is over. Same scenario is happening in China. They have the world’s highest EV penetration by volume.

@acinvestorblogMar 26, 2026 · 1:07 PM

$USO $SPY Do you know why surging oil prices are not necessarily good news for producers right now? Many of them are starting to panic. I will explain. Main Uses of Oil Worldwide Transportation (Accounts for roughly 55–65% of total global oil consumption) - Road transport dominates this, making up about 45–50% of all oil used globally. - Aviation (jet fuel): Around 7–8%. - Shipping : Around 6–7%. High oil prices act as a catalyst that speeds up the transition for price-sensitive buyers and highlights the long-term advantage of EVs (energy independence + lower operating costs). The process is already underway globally, EVs are displacing millions of barrels of oil demand per day. Im doing my job.... EV and Solar

@acinvestorblogMar 23, 2026 · 5:52 PM

$USO Here's the truth we've uncovered: $200 is nothing but a mirage 😉

@acinvestorblogMar 22, 2026 · 11:13 AM

Is this the End of Oil Dominance? Not immediately, oil will likely remain a major energy source for another few years but could mark the end of the crude Oil prices above $100 as soon as the war ends. This conflict could prove to be a pivotal accelerator for alternatives, similar to how past shocks, spurred efficiency and diversification. If the war prolongs or escalates further, it risks making oil even less reliable, pushing more investment into renewables, nuclear, and electrification eroding oil’s unchallenged dominance over time. Oil producers are in panic , they know this could be the end of a Golden Era. Renewables and electrification are gaining traction as strategic imperatives. High oil prices make solar, wind, batteries, and EVs more cost-competitive. Countries are proposing expansions in nuclear, renewables, domestic production, and stockpiles to diversify away from volatile imports. Speculators love high Oil prices, producers love balance. Oil remains essential for the economy, how ever this war is a wake-up call that could accelerate the shift away from oil dominance toward alternative energies. $TSLA $USO

@acinvestorblogMar 21, 2026 · 8:42 PM

$USO Call me crazy but there is a high possibility of a significant pullback in oil prices, similar in nature to the sharp corrections silver has experienced recently. A meaningful de-escalation or positive developments in the Middle East (particularly around the Strait of Hormuz and related conflicts) would be the single biggest trigger for a sharp pullback or even a crash-like drop in oil prices right now. Why a big pullback/crash is plausible on good news: - The current premium is almost entirely risk/geopolitical not fundamentals. - Spikes from such events are historically temporary. - Market is pricing in prolonged disruption , any positive shift could spark heavy selling from speculators unwinding longs. The Oil Weekend Price is telling us something ….

@acinvestorblogMar 20, 2026 · 4:45 PM

$USO A Oil Glut scenario is more than likely in the coming months - Producers will have a big problem on hands The recent surge in oil and fuel prices driven by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, including disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz has prompted the European Union to accelerate its energy transition efforts. EU leaders, including Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, have emphasized that these volatile imported fossil fuel costs serve as a stark reminder of Europe's vulnerability to external shocks. Rather than retreating from climate goals, the EU is doubling down on structural solutions: tweaking the Emissions Trading System (ETS) for short-term price stability (boosting the Market Stability Reserve and proposing a €30 billion "ETS Investment Booster" funded by carbon allowances), cutting national taxes/levies where possible, promoting homegrown renewables and electrification, and fast-tracking industrial decarbonization. The message is clear this crisis reinforces the urgency of shifting to affordable, secure, and clean domestic energy sources to reduce long-term dependence on fossil fuels. For traditional oil producers (especially those exporting to Europe, such as OPEC+ members in the Gulf), the consequence is a sharp and sustained drop in demand over the coming years. As the EU ramps up renewables, energy efficiency, and electrification while incentivizing alternatives through carbon pricing and subsidies the bloc's oil and gas consumption is set to decline structurally. This accelerated shift, amplified by high prices making fossils less competitive, will erode market share for exporters, forcing them to face lower volumes, potential revenue shortfalls, and the need to pivot toward new buyers or diversification. In essence, what hurts European consumers in the short term is catalyzing a faster global transition away from oil dependency. I almost dont need Oil for my energy needs.

@dustinhuntwnMar 19, 2026 · 1:41 AM

$USO $EONR My prediction is that, the price of oil will keep rising up regardless of how much manipulation it faces. The only way it can be halted is if Trump suddenly agrees to stop the war on the terms of Iran which is very rare (may be 5% chance). Iran will try to exploit this situation to get the best deal, one of which is that, it can claim 10% tariff of every oil tanker that crosses the strait of Hormuz. It can even request for American bases to be removed from the region. They will try to use every leverage they have regardless how sever they get bombed. I believe this will take weeks if not months to resolve. Meanwhile we will see oil prices going higher. As a result all related products, such as gases, petrochemicals, fertilizers and certain petrol byproducts will be impacted in supply chain and in prices.

This places it firmly at number 1 globally, accounting for roughly 17-19% of the world's total proven reserves. Venezuela's oil production is already speeding up and has strong potential to accelerate further in the coming months and throughout 2026, driven by recent political shifts.

$USO No matter how many catastrophic events people try to hype up, oil prices still have great difficulty going up. @acinvestorblogMar 14, 2026 · 3:44 PM

While the media world is busy being entertained by the Strait of Hormuz, tankers are being rerouted to the Red Sea to load up. They would love to see oil at $200, but my friends, as long as there are other options and with demand falling, prices are very unlikely to go above $125. Remember that futures contracts are showing no signs of high-price anomalies, quite the opposite, they’re actually in backwardation / showing declines. High prices mean less demand, high prices mean people look for alternatives, high prices mean oil surplus. If there’s anyone who doesn’t want high prices, it’s the producers because they sell less. $USO $SPY #crudeoil #IranWar‌ just my honest opinion (i dont trade Oil, neither futures).
