$MDA: MDA Space has been awarded a contract by the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) to supply an advanced, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite that will operate with the RADARSAT Constellation Mission (RCM) satellites. In addition to the space segment, the contract provides for launch and the enhancement of the satellite ground control, security and data management systems. This follows an initial $44.7M contract to procure and deliver long lead parts awarded in December of last year.

$MDA $MDA.TO remains one of my favourite space stocks here. I feel like they are one of the only space companies who are actually making money and they are also the only one who have not received a crazy space valuation multiple. They also announced a new acquisition today: MDA Space is buying Blue Canyon Technologies from RTX in an all cash deal worth US$620M, pulling a profitable smallsat bus and component manufacturer out of Raytheon and into a pure play space prime. BCT brings 85+ spacecraft launched, 3,500+ products on orbit, 400+ engineers, and two Denver manufacturing facilities, giving MDA an instant US defence space footprint. The strategic logic is market access. This is MDA buying its way into the US government space supply chain at the exact moment defence space demand is structurally accelerating, adding US$3.5B to its opportunity pipeline and a local manufacturing base that lets it compete for missions previously closed to a Canadian prime. Financially it is clean. The deal is fully financed at signing through senior secured debt, expected to close by year end 2026, accretive to adjusted EBITDA and EPS in 2027, with pro forma leverage staying inside the 1.5x to 2.5x target range. A cash generating business bolted on without diluting holders or stretching the balance sheet past stated limits.

$MDA: MDA Space has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100% of the membership interests of Blue Canyon Technologies LLC in an all-cash transaction for a purchase price and enterprise value of US$620 million (approximately C$874 million), subject to purchase price adjustments. Blue Canyon Technologies (BCT) is a spacecraft and satellite component manufacturer and mission services provider, currently part of RTX’s Raytheon business.

$MDA: MDA Space has been selected by BAE Systems as part of the U.S. Space Systems Command (SSC) MEO EPOCH 2 Constellation program. A key component of the U.S. multi-orbit missile defence architecture, Epoch 2 is focused on warning and tracking of advanced ballistic and hypersonic weapons. MDA Space will design and build antennas and antenna control electronics for the MEO Resilient Missile Warning & Tracking (RMWT) satellites to be produced by BAE Systems. This award is a continuation of previous work by MDA Space on the Space Development Agency's low Earth orbit Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture Tranche 0, 1 and 2 Transport and Tracking layers, and the SSC's EPOCH 1 constellation, for multiple prime contractors.

$MDA space now lagging the entire space stack whilst arguably being one of the most valuable and defensive businesses. MDA has recently 10.00x their satellite manufacturing capacity > if space datacenters become a thing there is going to be significant demand for $MDA. I have made my Substak article on MDA entirely free (link in comments). I think MDA will easily double by the end of the year.

$MDA: MDA SPACE REPORTS FIRST QUARTER 2026 RESULTS Backlog of $3.7 billion at quarter-end provides revenue visibility for 2026 and beyond. This compares to $4.8 billion as of Q1 2025 with the reduction year-over-year driven by strong conversion of backlog into revenue. Revenues of $464.1 million in Q1 2026 were up 32.2% year-over-year driven by higher volumes across all business areas in the quarter. Adjusted EBITDA of $90.6 million in Q1 2026 increased 32.1% year-over-year driven by higher volumes of work. Adjusted EBITDA margin of 19.5% in Q1 2026 is consistent with the Company's full year margin guidance of 18%-20%. Net income of $29.6 million in Q1 2026 was down 10.0% year-over-year and diluted earnings per share were $0.22 in Q1 2026, a decrease of 11.5% year-over-year driven primarily by the increase in amortization of intangible expenses related to the SatixFy Communications Ltd. acquisition in Q3 2025.

$MDA: MDA has been selected by Airbus to design and build more than 880 Ka-band steerable antennas and 440 Ku-band user replacement antennas for the OneWeb low Earth orbit (LEO) constellation owned by the global operator Eutelsat. This award follows an initial order to supply close to 2,000 antennas to the constellation, the second largest in lower Earth orbit with approximately 650 satellites, given to MDA Space by OneWeb in 2016.

$MDA: MDA Space will establish three remotely operated GBO observatories in Alberta, Manitoba and New Brunswick. MDA Space announced today that it has been contracted by Canada’s Defence Investment Agency (DIA) to deliver three Ground-Based Optical (GBO) observatories as part of the Surveillance of Space 2 space domain awareness program to the Department of National Defence (DND). Valued at approximately $32 million, as part of the contract MDA Space will also operate and provide in-service support to ensure long-term sustainment of the ground stations.
