If your strategy for the biggest IPO cycle in years is just to buy on day 1. You’re guaranteed to be exit liquidity. That's where $STCK.TO / $STCGF comes in. The insiders holding SpaceX, OpenAI, and Shield AI got in at a fraction of the price. The only real way to win these trades is to get in before the IPO. The problem is that retail investors are almost entirely locked out from private markets. Stack Capital is a Canadian closed-end fund that holds pre-IPO stakes in SpaceX, OpenAI, Databricks, Canva, and Shield AI and is currently trading at a discount to the NAV I calculated. As per the latest rumored valuations, for every $1 of Stack stock, you're getting roughly $0.51 of SpaceX exposure, $0.07 of OpenAI, $0.07 of Canva, $0.05 of Shield AI, and $0.02 of Databricks. Its closest comparable, $DXYZ, trades at a 50% premium to NAV. Stack trades at a discount per my calculations. But if SpaceX files in March and lists in June, the clock is running. Stack is one of the only legitimate vehicles to hold that exposure before the window closes.

$STCK.TO / $STCGF - This Secret Canadian Microcap Is 50%+ pre-IPO SpaceX, OpenAI, Databricks, Canva, and Shield AI. And it’s trading at a discount to its NAV. Compare that to its closest competitor $DXYZ, which trades at a 50% premium to NAV. Stack was started back in 2021 to bridge the gap between retail and VC. The idea: buy the private market stocks everyday investos can't and park them in a closed end fund. As a Canadian stock, it doesn’t face the 98% distribution requirement of US closed end funds. That means it can compound long-term kind of like a public venture firm. While the stock languished for a few years, it’s up 60% in the last year as many of its key holdings like SpaceX are on the verge of IPO for 2026/2027, creating an exciting window for the stock. If SpaceX is worth $1.75T per the company’s target valuation at IPO, I have the stock trading at a 10% discount to its post-fee NAV (C$20.51) per Friday’s closing price of C$18.54. For every $1 of stock, you’re effectively buying $0.51 of SpaceX, $0.07 of OpenAI, $0.07 of Canva, $0.05 of Shield AI, and $0.02 of Databricks. The rest of the portfolio is mostly cash and Coreweave stock (they sold half their pre-IPO position for a near 3x return in Q3). Plus plenty of other asymmetric bets... Palantir-backed drone startup Shield AI isnow rumoured to be raising at $12B - so 3x Stack’s cost basis. More recently Stack bought into X Energy, a nuclear co backed by Amazon and Ares on the verge on an IPO. Overall, as we saw in 2025, investors who received pre-IPO allocations significantly outperformed those allocated shares at the IPO price. If your plan is to just buy these names at IPO, you’re going to end up as exit liquidity for the insiders cashing out of 1000x returns. A closed end fund like Stack helps everyday investors catch that pre and post IPO run up. Of course, there’s plenty of risks to the thesis worth calling out as well. Stack’s biggest holding remains Coreweave and they’ll face the volatility of that name until they can rotate out. But their cost basis is very low at something like $23B. These private investments can also be super risky. Stack bought some losers like Bolt Financial and Varo, which they’ve written down to near zero. Granted Stack is WAY better at picking than Destiny though with just 3 losing positions out of 14. OveralI think the bull case for Stack outweighs the bearish POV. Their fees are low, management has been consistently buying back shares, and they’ve proven they can shoulder their way into allocations into the most coveted private startups in the world. 99% of people in the world aren’t accredited investors, and the laws aren’t changing anytime soon. 2026 is going to look like a generational rug for everyone who didn’t find private market proxies in the public market.
