I have initiated a position in $LAC
The Trump administration has a direct equity stake in $LAC.
Let that sink in.
The DOE took a 5% ownership stake in Lithium Americas and a 5% stake in the Thacker Pass joint venture, the largest confirmed lithium deposit in North America. A $2.23 billion government loan. $625 million from $GM. 1,800 construction workers ramping on site right now. First production targeted late 2027.
Now look at the pattern.
Trump told a crowd in Georgia on February 19th to "go out and buy a Dell computer." Said it again at a White House Mother's Day event on May 8th. $DELL hit an all-time high that same day. Financial disclosures later revealed Trump personally bought $1 to $5 million of $DELL stock before publicly praising the company. The stock was up 107% year-to-date on the day he spoke. It has not stopped. $DELL is now up over 250% in 2026. Then $DELL landed a $9.7 billion Pentagon contract. This is the playbook.
The US government took a 9.9% stake in $INTC in August 2025. Paid $20.47 per share. $INTC reported Q1 2026 earnings in April and beat on every line. The stock jumped 22% in a single pre-market session. The government's $8.9 billion investment is now worth over $50 billion. Trump went on Truth Social to take credit for it.
$MP Materials. The Department of War took a 15% equity stake. The stock is up over 149% in the past year. Same story.
Every single company the Trump administration has touched has gone parabolic. They do not take equity stakes in companies they expect to fail. That is not how this works.
And $LAC has the same equity stake. 5% DOE ownership. 5% in the JV. Plus $GM locked in for 20 years.
Now here is what makes this different from all of them.
Lithium is not just an EV story. That narrative is dead.
This is an AI story.
Data centers cannot afford a single second of downtime. The IEA projects data center electricity demand will more than double by 2030 -> from 415 terawatt-hours to 945 terawatt-hours -> almost entirely driven by AI. Every new hyperscale facility being built right now runs on lithium battery storage systems. Lithium is faster to charge, lasts longer, takes up less space, and handles the burst power demands of AI workloads better than anything else on the market. The AI data center buildout is a direct lithium demand driver that almost nobody is talking about.
$LAC controls the largest measured lithium reserve in the Western Hemisphere. Engineering 93% complete. Nearly $1 billion already deployed in construction toward a $2.93 billion total build. Steel and concrete in the Nevada desert right now. Wedbush has an $8 price target. Scotiabank at $7.
The stock is still under $6.
The Trump admin touched $DELL ... up 250%. Touched $INTC ... the government turned $8.9 billion into $50 billion. Touched $MP ... up 149% in a year.
They own a piece of $LAC and the market has not connected it yet.
Not financial advice.
