Everyone's watching Tesla, Figure, Agility compete to build robots... But nobody's watching the actual bottleneck in humanoid scale. Sensors, actuators, harmonic gears, precision force measurement, edge AI chips, etc. Each humanoid needs dozens of specialty components. Most of these categories have decades of IP. You can't spin up precision force measurement in 18 months, or replicate Bulk Metal foil resistor tech overnight, or magically bootstrap harmonic reduction gears. IMO betting on the buildout is more asymmetric than betting on which maker wins... like $VPG, $OUST, $AMBA, etc.

Physical AI needs machines that can see, interpret and act locally in real time and Ambarella builds the chips and software platform that help make that possible.

Seeing a lot of chatter about robotics (like $OUST / $AMBA), nice to see the sector is gaining momentum again! Personally buying $VPG as the most direct humanoid play. And it hasn't really run yet on this recent sector momentum? Only sitting at ~$1.8B MC, has a lot more upside to go. There's also a solid structural stack here... > Manufacturing recovery > AI data center sensors (semiconductors) > Humanoid robotics scaling (secular, early-stage) Precision sensors are like the boring infrastructure every robotics company needs (force sensors for grip, strain gauges for joints, motion sensors for balance). $VPG already supplies these to multiple humanoid makers. Well positioned to benefit from every angle. I'll elaborate on my thesis and share additional research as we go. Wanted to give my initial thoughts first!

Seeing a lot of robotics talk this weekend, probably due to the investments in robotics hitting all time highs Here are some of my favourite ways to play it, with each pick focusing on a different part of how humanoids will function: Ouster ($OUST) builds the eyes. The company makes digital lidar sensors that fuse depth and, with the new Rev8 family, native color imaging directly on silicon, giving a robot a single pre-fused signal of what an object is and where it sits in space. Warehouses going autonomous, mining and agriculture going driverless, humanoids learning to see: all of it runs on perception hardware, and Ouster has spent thirteen straight quarters compounding product revenue while attaching software through the Stereolabs acquisition. The chokepoint angle is regulatory as much as technical. US federal procurement rules taking effect by June 30 2026 lock the largest Chinese lidar makers out of government contracts, and Ouster sits on the approved list, which steers defense, drone and smart infrastructure dollars toward it by default. Ambarella ($AMBA) builds the brain at the edge. Its low power vision SoCs combine a proprietary AI accelerator, image signal processor and video encoding to run neural networks directly on the device rather than shipping data to the cloud, which is the only viable architecture for a robot that has to perceive and decide in real time. The new 4nm CV7 announced at CES processes multiple video streams while sipping power, and Ambarella explicitly targets drones, industrial automation and other robotics applications alongside its automotive ADAS base. As the industry pivots from agentic AI to physical AI, the company that supplies high performance inference per watt at the endpoint owns a structural position in every camera equipped machine. Vishay Precision Group ($VPG) builds the sense of touch. This is the precision measurement business that makes strain gauges, load cells and force transducers, the components that tell a robotic actuator how hard it is gripping or how much weight it is bearing. It is the least obvious name of the three and arguably the cleanest chokepoint, because force feedback is non negotiable for humanoid manipulation and there are very few suppliers with the precision foil technology heritage VPG carries. The thesis is no longer theoretical. VPG booked its first humanoid robotics orders in Q1 2026 and analysts have repriced it as a profitable picks and shovels exposure to physical AI, lifting targets into triple digits on a book to bill above 1.2.

NVIDIA just announced the Isaac GROOT reference humanoid robot. The humanoid sector is arriving faster than almost anyone is prepared for. Look at what Jensen just put on stage. A complete reference humanoid built on Jetson Thor onboard compute. 2070 FP4 TFLOPS. 14 core Arm CPU. 128GB of memory. A 31 degree of freedom Unitree H2 Plus body. 22 degree of freedom five finger Sharpa hands. The full GROOT software stack for data generation, policy validation, and whole body control. Available October 2026. This is the iPhone moment for humanoids. When NVIDIA ships a reference design every robotics company on earth can build on top of it instantly. They just handed the entire industry a blueprint and the compute to run it. The barrier to building a capable humanoid just collapsed. And here is what most people are missing. NVIDIA does not make the sensors, the force feedback, or the perception silicon that goes into every one of these robots at scale. The reference design proves the platform. The component suppliers capture the volume. That is exactly why I am positioned the way I am. Some names include: $AMBA — the edge AI perception brain. Already signed an $800 million Hanwha robotics partnership. $OUST — the eyes. Native color lidar for robots navigating the real world. $VPG — the force sensors that let those Sharpa hands actually feel what they are gripping. $AMBA just reported Q1 and the numbers are quietly telling a very bullish story. Double beat and a new partnership and this stock is down??? Revenue came in at $100.4 million. Up 16.9% year over year. A clean beat with acceleration built into the guide. Automotive revenue hit an all time record this quarter. The rapid penetration of AI into commercial vehicles is the primary driver and management was explicit that this is just beginning. Every new vehicle program being designed today is an AI enabled vehicle. $AMBA is inside that transition. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.11. Up from $0.07 a year ago. The profitability trajectory is moving in the right direction quarter by quarter. Q2 guidance of $105 to $111 million. That is continued sequential acceleration. The revenue line is not slowing down it is compounding. $277 million in cash and marketable securities on the balance sheet. Clean. No debt. And the board just authorized a brand new $50 million buyback program starting July 1. Now here is the line from the CEO that stood out most to me. New products targeting more advanced AI workloads command average selling prices well in excess of current ASP. That means the growth story is not just more units. It is higher revenue per unit as the product mix shifts toward automotive, robotics, and edge infrastructure. The margin profile improves as the business scales into these markets. And then after the close they announced an $800 million plus long term partnership with Hanwha spanning robotics, industrial automation, life sciences, and security over 10 plus years. All time record automotive revenue. Rising ASPs. Accelerating guidance. New buyback. Decade long $800 million partnership. Everything is pointing in the same direction.

How hard it is gripping. How much weight it is carrying. Whether it is about to drop something. Already booking orders with four different humanoid developers. CEO confirmed low teens millions in humanoid revenue coming within a few years at $400 to $500 sensor content per robot. A humanoid without $AMBA cannot think. A humanoid without $VPG cannot feel.
