Did you listen to me? Most micro/small-cap “bottleneck” stocks are already down ~50% or more in just the past month, while retail was still drunk on pumping posts. Put your life savings into random microcaps because a newly popular account posted a one-line “bottleneck” thesis, anyone? I owned one of them but since the end of last year, $AAOI, and already got out at 3x to buy $MU for the record, but many other stocks didn't make sense, as an example in my post below. AXT is now $67 stock, down from $140 when I posted about this.

Just realized something crazy. $MU has made me more money in 2 months than any other stock I’ve owned… even more than some multi-year periods of NVDA. Not because MU outperformed NVDA. But because I entered it with a much larger capital base. That completely changed how the gains translated into actual dollars. This is one of the biggest mindset shifts in investing: A more than 100% move on a very large concentrated position can generate more wealth than multiple earlier 3-5x winners when your portfolio was still small. That’s why surviving long enough to compound matters so much, and concentrated at the right time (research and a lot of luck here).

Funny how people just assume hardware has to be cyclical and software has to be durable. But back to first principles, there is no law of nature saying that. If hardware becomes the scarce input for the most important workload in the world, its economics can become more durable than people expect.And if software gets commoditized, its durability can disappear faster than people expect. $NVDA $MU

$MU - the fragility is real after betting big on something like DRAM recently and digging into all kinds of numbers and scenarios, from GPU HBM demand to CPU DRAM projections, plus the memory supply side, etc. Looks like just a few articles but it ended up consuming so much of my time and mental energy because of the sizable bet. Much more relaxed if I just write about things without putting big money into them. Need some rest lol

My portfolio just hit a new all-time high today. YTD: +49.32% 1Y: +191.96% The craziest part? Just over a month ago, it was still red YTD. While the YTD return is not as high as some other accounts, I am still happy because I did not have to own speculative names that went up 10x in a few months or buy too many risky short term options. This time, $MU truly made the difference, along with a few quick small bets with earlier this year like $AAOI, $NBIS, $CRWV, $ALPD, and $IREN. Thanks to the bears for creating the opportunity with Micron. How did MU crash after the last earnings, and then crash again after the Google TurboQuant panic? I still have no idea, my position size changed so quickly because of the price drop. I made some mistakes too. Took some small losses in FIG, and didn’t make much from ORCL. Still green, but the opportunity cost was high. The return could have been even higher if I hadn’t bought too much too early before the dip. But I did buy a lot near $350. It also could have been higher if I hadn’t chickened out a bit. I didn’t expect TACO to come so quickly. It could have been much higher if I had used more margin or gone heavier into call options. I only bought some calls for fun. So far this year, the portfolio is still running at roughly 3.7x QQQ’s performance. I shared my thesis with paid members during the crash, but honestly, it wasn’t as easy as it looks now.

$MU - Another key point is that current estimates are based on past DRAM prices. We all know prices are going up significantly; we just don’t know when they will stop. This means actual earnings could be much higher than current estimates. With a re-rating, it could get crazy.

It's funny to see forward PE, or even a few more years EPS of some of the hottest stocks in AI infra like $BE $LITE $COHR $ALAB $CRDO And even the storage stocks like $STX or CPU stocks like $INTC etc. You can't find something lower than 30x! Then you have DRAM stocks like $MU at ~5 and $NVDA at ~20 multiples.

After a big run, $MU has become much more expensive at next year PE multiple of 4.8. For context, Tesla just had a blowout earnings at $0.41 eps, stock price is moving up to $400 now AH. Well it was based on some old analyst estimate before the recent DRAM price upward projection.
