Institutions haven’t found this yet… here’s a new long-term trade idea: Almost none of the world’s dysprosium and terbium gets processed outside China. Not a little. Almost none. These are the two heaviest rare earth elements, the ones that go into the highest-performance magnets on the planet, EV motors, defense systems, advanced robotics. Light rare earths go into washing machines. Heavy rare earths go into the stuff that can’t fail. China controls roughly 70% of global mining and more than 85% of separation and processing. For dysprosium and terbium specifically, the Western number is close to a rounding error. > $ALOY (REalloys) > Market cap: roughly $800M This is a mine-to-magnet company, meaning it isn’t buying someone else’s finished magnets and slapping a domestic sticker on the box. It has a 15-year binding offtake for 15% of Phase 1 production from Tanbreez in Greenland, one of the largest heavy rare earth deposits on earth, with priority access specifically to the dysprosium and terbium fractions. It’s partnered with the Saskatchewan Research Council to scale separation and metallization. Two days ago it signed a non-binding LOI with JS Link to push that platform into integrated magnet manufacturing. Here’s the number that made me write this up. Clear Street initiated with a Buy and a $35 target. The stock trades around $13. That’s roughly 170% upside from a single analyst, on a stock that currently has exactly one analyst covering it. Institutions haven’t found this yet. They haven’t looked at it and passed. They haven’t looked. Now the part I’m not going to soften. Revenue is early, roughly $2.4M last quarter against operating losses near $88M. This is a pre-revenue-scale bet on execution, not a derisked cash story. The balance sheet is clean, low debt, about $47M cash after a June raise, but more dilution is likely before this becomes a real revenue company. The catalyst that anchors the timeline: the Pentagon bans Chinese-origin rare earth content from defense procurement on January 1, 2027. Less than six months out. Every defense contractor and EV motor maker with exposure to that rule now has a hard deadline they didn’t have eighteen months ago, and almost nobody in the West can supply them at scale. These are the elements that make permanent magnets heat-resistant enough to survive inside EV motors and robot actuators. Pentagon-linked with secured non-Chinese heavy rare earth supply. Building the largest heavy rare earth metallization facility outside of China through a partnership with the Saskatchewan Research Council, with operations based in Ohio. Fully funded at $40M for 30 tonnes of dysprosium and 15 tonnes of terbium metal annually. Every magnet maker in this thread eventually needs what $ALOY produces.

NEW Long Idea: $USAR (+96% upside) China just weaponized 7 rare earth elements. Everyone bought $MP. $UUUU. $LYSCF. They’re all wrong layer. Here’s why, and what the actual play is: The supply chain looks like this: Mine → Separation → Metallization → Magnet → Defense/EV/Robots Everyone is focused on mining ($UUUU producing Dy/Tb oxide for the first time in US history, March 2026). But none is talking about metallization. Oxide is not metal. Magnet makers need metal. The step between separated oxide and magnet-grade metal is called metallization; reduction under high vacuum at extreme temperature using proprietary furnace technology. There is exactly one company doing this in North America: $ALOY (REalloys Inc., Ohio). And one company controlling the only US integrated mine-to-magnet stack: $USAR (USA Rare Earth, Texas). $USAR controls Round Top, one of the few US deposits with meaningful dysprosium and terbium, and is commissioning the first domestic mine-to-magnet production in decades at Stillwater, OK. $3.1B in government and private capital already closed.
