the simplest institutional edge you can steal as a retail investor:
follow the supply chain, not the stock price.
most retail investors watch $nvidia go up and ask: what other AI stocks should i buy?
institutional analysts do something different. they trace the supply chain upstream from nvidia and ask: what does nvidia need that it can't build itself?
the answer is almost always a company you've never heard of, with a market cap under $2B, that makes something very specific and very irreplaceable.
probe cards. photomasks. power conversion ICs. optical interposers. the parts that sit between the fab and the finished product.
those companies get priced last. they move after the institutional allocation has already happened.
by the time nvidia is in your news feed, the supply chain is three moves ahead.
that's the edge. trace the chain. find the chokepoint. own it before it's obvious.
