1) Was reading $SNDK's comment on Barclays conference call. Kinda dry and not sure if there are anything interesting lol. So I somehow found this part of $INTC's call on 18A with UBS two weeks ago interesting. $INTC: "What I would tell you is, we're still not satisfied with where yields are. But relative to when Lip-Bu came back to the company in March, he was clearly unhappy with where yields were absolutely." "....he was probably more displeased by the fact that progress on the yields were very unpredictable, very haphazard." "I think that he kind of tasked the team himself and Naga to really double down and focus on getting yields right for Panther Lake. And I see -- I think we're starting to see the benefits of that because at the very least, yields are still not at the levels we want them to be and they will continue to get better over time, as Dave talked about on the earnings call."

$SIMO expressed caution on HBF in Q3 earnings call: "...this is all designed for AI inference near GPU. We see there's 3D SoC technology moving to meet certain new GPU leaders requirements. $SNDK But this (HBF) requires new controller (I believe $SNDK is working on the HBF controller with timeline like '27) and packing technology. We will monitor it carefully because we believe initially this belong to all the NAND makers development, and we are also invited to join the business. But I think we are out of a resource. We want to monitor when the market become more mature, more stable and where we'll participate."

9) Given a conservative posture of NAND and HDDs makers, the imbalanced supply-demand dynamics, which is a key driver of these players revenue and margin, is likely to sustain for quite a while. More importantly, one could still underestiamte the demand in storage just like $SNDK given the rapidly change in AI model layer and token explosive growth.

8) Historically, the cyclical nature of the memory industry has hesitated memory investors in a supercycle like this. This is no doubt true in NAND. But what's interesting this time is both NAND and HDDs providers are very conservative on CAPEX and wafer capacity expansion (despite fabs running full capacity with strong demand + visibility). $SNDK is not an exception. Here is an excerpted comment from SNDK's management: "And we do not plan to add capacity for any particular market. It will simply be a mix question..." "Our fiscal 2026 CapEx plans remain unchanged, along with the long-term strategy to grow supply in line with the market.......Going forward, our capital allocation is unchanged" One should note that $SNDK's fab is currently at ~100% utilization rate.

7) HDD vs. SSD in Data Center While $WDC suggests 80% of data center storage will still be HDDs in most recent call, $SNDK believes the enterprise SSD gonna grow faster than HDDs, citing "more data is getting warmer, and warmer data moves to enterprise SSDs." This is in line with understanding, while admitting the continued significant presence of HDDs in data centers. The substitution question may still hang in many people's minds. But no doubt in my mind that eSSD will grow in the long run. And this trend benefits eSSD providers like $SNDK, SK Hynix, and many others. In fact, most memory makers' eSSD sales are seeing notable upside in recent quarters.

1) $SNDK (+ 7% AH) has a great quarter, but even outlined a better '26 and arguably some bullish signs in '26 and '27. Comments in the call are generally very opposite and worth coverage. Fundamental first. SNDK beats basically all metrics and consensus (see note below). One key metric not mentioned in the quick note below by @TMTBreakout is gross margin, which management guided to ~41–43% for Q2 — which is roughly a 900 bps sequential increase (33.1% this Q) at the midpoint of the range. That's significant (and will drive rev for coming Qs). It's mainly driven by an expectedly favorable pricing environment and ramp of BiCS 8 technology.

Can say this $SNDK call delivers. Analyst: "Got it. And then I think, David, you kind of talked about a 40% growth next year for data center exabytes and then even better growth in '27. I'm just curious, is that the right way to think about it? Data center is a 300-plus exabyte market this year, going to mid-400 to 600-plus in '27? David Goeckeler (SNDK Executive ): Yes. We've got it as a high 300s number for '26. So that's healthy growth over what we saw in '25. Remember, going back to '24, we saw 130% year-over-year growth in that market. That was a 200 -- like around a 230 number, followed up by high teens in '25, and we're going to put on top of that, a mid-40s number in '26.
